The Transsexual From Tobago.(Revised)

I’ve loved Dominique Jackson ever since I first saw her on Strut, and now she’s one of my favorite character’s on Pose. I love her even more after reading this book. She really pours her heart out, and at times it was difficult to read how much pain she’s had to endure from those who were supposed to protect and take care of her. Her kindheartedness is often taken advantage of by those she loved and only wanted love from in return. I really hope she decides to write a follow up someday, but if not I hope writing this book was healing process and she’s found the happiness and peace of mind she deserves. I love you Dominique.

I enjoyed reading this book. The book was easy to read and kept my interest. When I first received the book, I was surprised at the number of pages. I thought it would take me several weeks to finish it. But it only took me a few days to complete it.The author shares many of the challenges and struggles that transgenders are facing. Some of the chapters are sad. But for the most part, the book is uplifting and inspiring. I would definitely recommend this book. I gave the book 4 stars instead of five only because there were a few typos. I want to thank the author for sharing so much of her life.

This book wasn't edited which was very strange. It's the very sad story of the early life of this woman. It is eye opening to what Transsexual women have had to live or die with. And the hate culture of West Indian people toward the LBGTQ folks. I would never cast out my child if they felt of different gender. Very sad. I hope she is happy now. Loved her in Pose. I would have liked to see photos but she probably didn't have any.

I bought this book because I was intrigued by the author who is in such TV series as Pose. However I was extremely disappointed given how poorly this book was developed and edited. Between the constant spelling mistakes and grammatical errors, it was very difficult to get thru. Supposedly the author's cousin edited this but I think a reasonably Intelligent 6th grader could have done a better job. I'm assuming this is a self published book because I can't believe any halfway decent publishing house would ever release a mess like this. Really it is a shame because the subject matter is unique and interesting, but it is severely marred by poor and unprofessional presentation. For the price it is absolutely not worth it.

Tried to read this, but was unable to get through it due to poor editing and an elementary level presentation. Minimal descriptions and written almost like a news article instead of an autobiography. I love this character on Pose. However, this book was a HUGE disappointment.

A fascinating beautiful book from a beautiful woman! This is a must read! Such an empowering story that captures your heart.
