Great Book
Well written, and great illustrations. It also really helped that the author was my professor. He knew his material so well that he would teach the class without notes, and if you read along in the book, he was dictating verbatim what was in the book. I still refer to it for patients and weekend warrior friends that push a little too hard.

Are you looking to become a Manual Therapist with consistent favorable outcomes??
I can’t say enough about Dr Howard Makofsky. He was my advanced spine and TMJ joint mobilization professor in PT school 12 years ago. I purchased the first addition for his first course and his second More advanced course was based on the book written by Dr. Greenman DO with a focus on a osteopathic MET corrections. My focus in PT school was out patient manual therapy and this book was an amazing starting point for me . A perfect staring point for any new therapist and therapist and older therapist looking to learn what a manual therapist should be doing daily. The book outlines direct and indirect treatment methods for c/t/ l spine and TMJ , hep suggestions, evidenced based examination of spine , and other useful stuff. I can go on and on about what I like and use. All I can say is that if you want to understand what an osteopathic manual physical therapy is and what has been proven to work for PTs and DOs , read this book and incorporate some of he techniques and repeat. You will be doing your patients and yourself a big favor. Basically all this material presented is a digestible ! So if you like Nerding out and learning how to be a better manual therapists with great outcomes take the time to read this book and keep it at your desk in the clinic . Thanks again Dr. Makofsky’s for all your work!

A must have reference for any physical therapist
I find it refreshing that Dr. Makofsky has chosen to provide the reader an integrative approach to spinal evaluation and treatment. He outlines the importance of clinical reasoning and challenges the reader through a case study format of questioning. This book will serve as a valuable resource for those seeking a more comprehensive understanding of spinal assessment and intervention.
