This worked perfectly. Don't bother with the cheap ones. This one is a bit pricier then others but we'll worth it. The whole kit weighs 60 pounds so it's definitely durable and not cheaply made. It's a bulky kit but removal and install is a snap. Must buy for an DIYer or Automotive technician.

I am now on my second front end rebuild using this kit 46. I have a coupe powerbuilt products. They will not fail you when In use. I have managed to bend a receiving cup because of a ball joint that was too small and I was too impatient. Other than that I have pulled or pushed ball joints, bushings, tie rods and the rest for front end rebuilds. Do not use a c clamp! Spend the money for this and your health. None of us want a tool shooting metal at us when it fails, and powerbuilt seems to be built not for power, but to ensure no failure events. My other kits are: separators and bushing press. Both amazing powerbuilt kits for the complete home mechanic. FYI I also reuse this kit with the bushing install kit for factory results.

Product came very well packaged and in fabulous condition. It has a light coating of oil to prevent corrosion during transit and has been sufficient in use with my FordF150 and Nissan Frontier. Made short work of my lower ball joints on the F150, a better job than the rental set from O'Reillys for sure. I used impact guns rated at 300 and 1400 pounds with confidence, and the tool held up without any issues whatsoever. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to service light truck and car suspensions, worth every penny.

I used this kit to remove my upper ball joint on my 2007 GMC Sierra 2500 Duramax. I used a bit of heat to get it to break free. The tool bends for sure and losing it's clamping force when it starts to happen. I was using a 3' breaker bar on a 3/4 drive. I soaked the ball joints with penetrating fluid prior too. My parts weren't even rusty. The lower one didn't budge when I tried the first time, so I found on a concrete driveway, with a jack under the lower arm, it was easier to use a super heavy ball peen hammer to hammer it out. 25 years of swinging a hammer helped. I bought an AC delco lower ball joint and that sucker didn't want to go in, clamp just bent. So once I got a big load on the clamp I would hammer the bottom of the clamp and it would be enough to force that ball joint in. I bought a KR6696 Kryptonite upper and that went in super smooth, highly recommend that part, great quality. I might buy a Snap On clamp to do my other side. There is a lot of different sizes and combinations I was able to get the perfect sizes I needed. The clamp barely opened big enough to fit (could have cut ball joint to get more room). For the price it did the job and obviously a 2500 is on the bigger side of the spectrum.

Having used this set in the past, it’s very comprehensive. The forcing screw is robust enough to handle abuse from an impact if you lubricate the threads to prevent galling. It’s not indestructible, you do need to take care when using the pushing cups as they can be bent when used improperly. Overall, it’s a great set. When used properly it should last for years.

I bought this with reservations as some of the comments referred to it being made in China or Tiawan. Also, I've been removing ball joints and replacing universal joints for 20 years using a variety of punches, chisels, sockets, pipes and other tools I'd fashioned to get the job done. I first saw a similar tool used on PowerBlock TV (now Power Nation), seen on Spike and on-line episodes. I didn't want to pay the $200, but with work imminent on my 2001 Jeep Cherokee, and the use on PowerBlock, I took the plunge. It made the job so much easier! I am really happy I bought it. The directions were not very clear, so you have to fiddle with it a little to find the right extensions to use. But once I figured it out, it made hours of pounding and levering and jacking turn into minutes. Highly recommended! Also, I did look at buying the smaller size kit, but am happy I bought the larger size to get all the attachments. I suspect it is made in China, but nothing broke and I put the 7/8" wrench with a foot extension to it with no issues.

This is so much better than using a sledgehammer. This tool made removal of the ball joints on my Sierra 2500HD much easier.

The Powerbuilt is very well constructed and is worth paying the price for Quality ,arrived on time ,all parts are separated into compartments and named for use, complimented by instruction manual attached to inside of the case.The old saying ,"what you pay for is what you get,"you are getting the Best,so buy something that will last and give you good service for years to come ,good Company to do business with.
