Excellent "no power needed" pump!
If you have an issue with power outages during thunder storms in your area, then this is the product you need! This kit comes with pretty much everything needed for the install, I only needed a couple of additional pvc elbows to connect it. Install can take anywhere from 2-8 hours, depending on the ease of access to your sump pumps, a water line and sewage pits. I was adding this as a backup to my 2 ejector pumps, and had plenty of open space to work. So the install took about 5 hours total, since we had to configure the pvc piping around my existing pumps. The instructions are pretty clear, I really didn't have any issue following them. You can install the pump a few different ways, to fit your needs and the space you have to work with.the most difficult part of the install for most people will be adding a water line to reach the pump. I had a copper pipe close by, so it was simple to cut into and add a T joint. The water line joiners they supply are great. they require no soldering at all, so for many installs you shouldnt really need a plumber or a torch for the install. This pump is my last resort backup pump, so it has not gone off yet since I havent experienced a large enough rainfall to trigger it (even when I disable my electric pumps). However, manually triggering it, the pump kicks on and runs as expected, does a pretty good job of pushing water out quickly. If you are a homeowner with a basement, and you have any worries about flooding, this is the product to get. it is well worth the cost of the item and the install to have the peace of mind that it gives, knowing that even if I lose power my ejector pump can still push water.

Expensive but quality kit. You are paying for convenience ...
Expensive but quality kit. You are paying for convenience. If you want to source out the Ts and other stuff for water feed and PVC fittings you will be money ahead.

Nice piece of mind...
Finally got this installed. Although I did most of the work myself, I called in a plumber to make the final connection, becasue I wanted him to connect it BEFORE my water shut-off. This is so we can shut the water off when leaving the house for an extended period, but still leaving the basepump functioning (too many horror stories of people returning from vacation, only to find a major leak that destroyed their house on their return.) This necessitated calling in the town to shut the water off at the main line. He also installed a shut-off before the Baseline pump, in case it needs service. It gives one a piece a mind to have this installed, knowing there's a back-up in case of power or sump pump failure. The pump appeared to work well, although it hasn't been tested in a real situation as of yet, but I'm confident that it will do the job, if needed.

Pretty easy to install for a complete novice.
I self installed this guy myself in about 4 hours! I have ZERO plumbing experience, but basepump has some youtube videos out there to help you install (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZ-O9VnCeMQ) as well as easy to read instructions.Everything came packaged extremely well, and as I ordered the PRO version the extra equipment that came with it made installation a bit easier and was cheaper then going to my local hardware store. The only extra items that I had to purchase was some PVC primer/glue, 1 1/4" PVC piping, 3/4" PEX piping, and a 1 1/2" tee with a 1 1/4" adapter to connect to the ejector of the basepump. The only REAL issue I ran into when installing was that my ceiling joists are not configured to mount the basepump as shown in the installation video or manual. It was pretty easy to rig something to enable my basepump to be mounted without any pieces hitting anything.I've had to contact basepump about some questions, and they've been quick and very curtious with their replies. The pump, as I have it set up now, runs a little bit faster that my old battery back up that I had installed. I think it may be because I used a tee instead of wyee connecting to my main sump pumps discharge line (I did not run a separate discharge line from the basepump to the outside of my house, it would require quite a bit of extra work to drill through brick and would be a really long run of PVC).Any way, overall I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase and basepumps help. Feels good to not have to worry about going on vacation and losing power.UPDATE: Base Products Corp has been EXTREMELY helpful. I sent them an email asking them to review my install, and not only were they willing to review my install but also helped point me to a bad check valve (that I had just replaced). After chaning that check valve, this pump runs MUCH faster than my old battery back up. I cannot recommend this company enough! Wish I could give this more than 5 stars, customer service is alive and well with this company!

Finally the perfect, no-worry solution to sump pump failure or power outages.
This was the peace of mind I was looking for after completely renovating our basement. It WAS easy to install. I had a plumber prepare a tee from our water line a couple months ago, so that all I had to do was connect an easy-to-connect PEX line into the unit and the rest was very straight-forward work for a semi-handy guy. Took me about 2 hours in total to put together. Now that this is installed, I never have to worry about our main sump pump kicking the bucket or power going out in a storm. No batteries to worry about, no having to pail-bail. It was a bit more expensive over other "traditional" backup systems, but this is SO worth that extra and is a better solution all around. Highly recommended.

No more concern for power outage for basement flooding
I am building a new house in Maryland and this house is being builded under water table due to defective design. A Tsurumi sump pump is working all time, but I am concerning with the power outrage. Now I bought HB 1000pro this week and I asked Plumer to install it and I adjusted the timing. It works great and removes water constantly when I pour water in the pit. Worthy to buy. So I am ordering another one today to install for other pit.
