Persian Art & Architecture

Das Cover ist nicht so, wie in der Abbildung. Das hat mich sehr enttäuscht. Statt dessen ist ein Gebäude (Moschee?) mit zwei Frauen im Schleier im Vordergrund zu sehen. Das finde ich sehr ärgerlich. Vor allem, weil dadurch das Buch entwertet wird, in dem die alte persische Kultur scheinbar nur auf das heutige Iran reduziert wird. Schöner wäre es gewesen, wenn das Cover wie in der Abbildung geblieben wäre und man tatsächlich den Eindruck gewonnen hätte, dass auf die persische Kunst und Architektur eingegangen wird!!!

Ein wunderschöner Band. Die Fotos sind wirklich erstklassig. Man möchte unbedingt nach Isfahan fahren. Den englischen Text kann ich nicht berwerten, damien englisch nicht so gut ist.

I gave this as a gift to a Persian ex-pat. He loved it as did everyone else. He mentioned that often books of Persian Art stop at the regime change of the 70's and this was much more comprehensive.

In this hard cover reference book, the major emphasis is on color photographs with associated text. Superb high-resolution images (mostly color) are printed on high quality paper and print quality is excellent. I think it is a very useful and authoritative publication on Persian Art and Architecture.

Simply a masterpiece, probably the best overview one can have regarding Persian -Iranian Islamic art and architecture. I just love this book.

Henry Stierlin's Persian Art and Architecture is the best book on Middle Eastern architecture that I have seen. Absolutely beautiful!
