Lightweight but does a heavyweight job?
We have about 7.5 acres and so there's a lot of weeds that need to be whacked. Our huge heavy duty gas powered weed wacker wasn't working and so we got one of these from a tool rental place. It was pretty amazing. It did just as good A job As our huge old heavy gas weed wacker. So we bought one and we love it. It's light. It works great. The battery stays charged for a long time. It's all good.

Awesome product
I've had mine for about 2 years now and it still works great!

Works well but battery a bummer for big jobs
String is easy to replace, and the weedeater can just use the same 18 V battery that I use for my Ryobi cordless drill and cordless vacuum. Edging tool just involves a quick step on the pedal above the trimmer’s protective cover. The only thing I don’t like about this product is that each battery only provides about 10 minutes of use on high power. Even after charging and using two batteries, I still couldn’t finish my yardwork. Had to recharge and wait till the next day to finish it.

highly recommend
i beat the juice out of this lemon and it is still going. the handle me;lted in the hot sun and bent, so now it is like a 45 degree angle and even easier to use! i recommend the prepackaged and wound spools 6 pack, so you can pop a new one in when you run out. i got a bigger battery as well. this thing gets it done here in florida. not bad at all. i got a blower too, so i can mow, weed whack, edge, and blow until the sun goes down

Great trimmer
Plenty of power and great price. It’s a bit heavier than my last trimmer and it’s taking time to get use the getting a precise edge. Well worth the money. The 18v 4Ah battery holds plenty of charge. I’m a huge fan of the One plus Ryobi kit. My yard is not small and I use the trimmer, mower and blower weekly in my yard. A battery and a half takes care of everything- I took advantage of the 2 battery and charger pack.

Ryobi perhaps it is time to build products in this country
A well-engineered product with the possibility to be useful except it has been sent to China for manufacture and China can always make something cheaper except they also like to cut corners to make it even cheaper. That does not work. I have a 12-year-old Earthwise trimmer yup runs on ni-cads that cost 37 bucks and yes I rebuild the batteries for it except last week it launched the line cap into space. Try finding replacement parts for a 12-year-old Chinese product ;) I found one for 17 bucks and should have just ordered it. But no dude you own a lot of one plus tools and have all the chargers and batteries so do it. "MISTAKE" I just ordered the $17 line cap for the old system. The trimmer is a pleasure when you are not manually trimming the line, this is because the auto line system does not function as designed. The engineering is rock solid except for the places they cheaped out on this product. I observed other comments on the supposed string trimmer blade, PLASTIC, this renewed version which appears new has a metal line trimmer. It does not matter if the line trimmer is plastic or metal if not sharp make sure to carry a side cutter to trim the line. Now to be fair it does have all the irritations line trimmers bring as a gift to your mental attitude ;).but for something so well-engineered then to turn it over to CHINA to produce and screw up is pathetic. It would cost more if produced in this country but I suspect it might work much better. Leave the CHINA syndrome of manufacturing... Personally, I have designed many items that we sent to Asia for mass production, and the first hurdle to jump in the redesign to save cost that seems to occur on all items that always fail especially in electronics. I have rejected almost every first production from those countries. I am very tempted to send this back but will rework the crap that does not function properly. I do like the potential of this device but it is certainly not ready for prime time. And ya I did toss the damn thing but I made sure to toss it into a pile of straw so as to not damage it. Ryobi time to upgrade your game or suffer the loss of a market. I have many One + tools that all work well this one leaves one wondering if the engineers are still employed...Day 2 worked but it either throws all the whipper cord out or just cuts it at the eyelet. Now if it did it once and a while it would be irritating but this TOY either runs for 3 minutes or just throws a hissy fit. It also likes to wind the motor capstan. I have several Ryobi one plus tools and all work quite well this one is a joke and it makes one wonder whom they contracted to design this. The trimmer works very well until the head decides it needs attention. Some of the best trimming I have done. The only problem is I do not have the time to fix the head abnormalities every 3 to 4 minutes

Best with a bigger battery
This is a decent light duty weed whip. One annoying feature is that the line will spool out during use. I fixed this by inserting a pencil eraser in the spooling mechanism. The smaller capacity batteries are done quickly. The higher capacity batteries, 50 and 60 amp hours keep going for quite a while.
