Droewors - Dried Beef Sausage - 8 oz

These are my favorite snack since they're high in protein and not that high in calories since it's mostly lean beef used. The spice mixture in this is a bit heavy handed with clove so if you like the taste of clove then you'll definitely love this. The lamb casing gives it an awesome "snap" when you bite into it. Here's a cost saving tip: if you go to the company's website, it's actually cheaper to order it directly from them (and they have free shipping) so if you're a fan of these like I am then it makes more sense. A 16 ounce bag (or 1 lb) costs $25 on the company's site with free shipping and it gives you the option of buying the regular ones or the spicer version (peri peri). And the peri peri ones aren't sold on Amazon (well, not from this company at least). So, if you try these out and find yourself addicted to them, then order directly from the company's site.

I'm not sure if the recipe was changed but the sausage was not dried properly. It was so fatty and oily that you could not even taste the flavor. All you got when you took a bite was oil running into your mouth. Even my dog would not eat it. I had ordered this brand before and liked it but this was truly awful.

Spice mixture is oky..ish.Meat mixture is horrible.Nothing like it should taste.But i guess of you dont know better it would taste ok

I'm so glad I stumbled upon Braaitime while looking for a good deal on biltong. The free shipping hooked me, and the taste locked me in for life. Some may call biltong and droewors an acquired taste, in which case I recommend starting to acquire it pronto. I grew up in South Africa, have tried several of the American biltong brands, and found Braaitime the best. I had never tried droewors (dry sausage) before, but seeing how good the biltong was I ordered a sample of the droewors. I didn't think anything could be as good as the biltong, but wow! it is not hard or greasy but is easy to bite into, and the traditional flavor has a delicate spicy taste. I promptly ordered a pound to go along with my pound of biltong. I switched to biltong for a healthy lean protein snack to avoid cookies and to get leaner myself, and it's working (but this is not a diet review). I think the end result is so good because they don't rush the preparation but let it develop the flavor and tenderness slowly to perfection, as well as starting with the best beef. Also they keep it simple, focusing on doing a few things right rather than having dozens of confusing choices. Moreover, the quality of the customer service matches that of the product. I always get mine in two days via USPS priority mail, but they do not ship when weekend or holiday delays would adversely affect the meat.Great taste, nice and moist, no fatty aftertaste!

I love jerked/dried meat snacks, and these were good, but I wasn't amazed.Biltong is better, jerky is better, but it's definitely still edible.Very dry, texture similar to slim jim (minus all the grease), not heavily seasoned, and a light vinegar flavor.

Truly authentic, best biltong I've tried so far and first one that tastes like the kind back in south africa

Not sure what's going on but this is no longer authentic!!The flavor isn't good because it's overpowered by all the fat in the product!! Droewors isn't meant to be greasy and mostly fat!Previous batches I've bought were delicious, dry, prime quality meat... and I didn't mind paying a bit more than normal for it ...But am very 😞 disappointed in this batch, it's awful, heart attack in the making!

My boyfriend misses the tasty freshness of the meats he grew to love from South Africa, I've tried and orders several brands and types of biltong and droewors. And this by far is the closest he says to actually being there eating it. So thank you to the makers of these delicious fried meat treats! It makes my day to make his day!
