A beautiful, interesting, and informative book!
No more grocery store cheese for me. Thanks to this book, I went looking for - and found - wonderful little cheese shops in my area with delicious local and French cheeses! My meals are greatly enhanced! My snacks far more flavorful. Merci, Dominique!

Cheese Hunger!
I am excited to share a wonderful review of this book in that I think it does a couple of things very well. Namely, it describes a wide range of French cheeses, giving some nice pointers along the way without reading like an encyclopedia. Additionally, being a visual person I enjoy the luscious cheese photos. Secondly, part of the reason we all love French products is the attention to detail and pursuit of excellence in ones chosen profession and Dominique Bouchait certainly subscribes to this philosophy. In reading this book it is evident he cares about his craft and wants to make you a more informed customer. Finally, in speaking for myself the first time I walked into a Fromagerie in France I found the experience overwhelming in that I simply did not have the vocabulary to ask or understand what I might want or enjoy. I am still very much a novice in the cheese knowledge department, but after reading Fromages I am better equipped to hopefully ask an intelligent question and find a great cheese to enjoy.
