desertcart.com: One Hundred Hungry Ants: A Fun Visual Introduction to Math and Division for Kids (Ages 4-7): 9780395971239: Pinczes, Elinor J., MacKain, Bonnie: Books Review: My second grade class loved this book! - We are learning different ways to skip count and find patterns in ways to get to 100. I read this to the students in class. They loved the book, the processing, and pictures. They were able to process and discuss the different patterns of the lines the 100 ants formed. Then they were able to relate this to coins in a dollar. They book is ideal for guided reading and discussion. It has rhythm, which is important for young children to recall concepts. It also it is a lot of fun. They enjoyed me reading to them, and then they wanted to hold the book and read it again to themselves. I highly recommend this book, for learning and just for fun reading. Review: Entertaining! - Great read-aloud for any elementary students. Also, a great kick-off for older students to write their own stories to demonstrate understanding of more advanced topics including algebra and geometry. The author's other book (or one of them) A Remainder of One is also multi-useful and entertaining! (Am I allowed to mention other titles?)

Cute and educational book
Cute and educational book that I read to them when we are doing our insect 🐜 lessons :) After reading the book I had the kids make a picnic blanket with paper (the weaving paper thing) and cut and glue foods from the weekly grocery ads onto the picnic basket - we used plastic ants 🐜 to add more fun to the scene (all this goes with the book)

100
Multiple ways to get to 100 using ants. In backwards order to the book = 10x10, 20x5, 25x4, 50x2, 100x1. I just did not like how the ants did not get any food in the end and were angry at the littlest ant.... I would have preferred them to have found lots of leftover crumbs to carry home for each of them.

Awesome and clever mathematics book!!
I'm a college student working towards my Elementary Education degree, and a mom of two young children. I purchased this book while taking a mathematics course, so I could introduce some more advanced mathematics concepts to my four year old. He loves this book! It has a silly cute repetitive song, and teaches about division and multiplication. There is a list of other suggested reading material at the end of the book, and I'm going to get each one of them!

アリ100匹が、2列、3列となり何とか早く食べ物へたどり着こうというお話です。自然と数の概念を学べるのではないかと思います。また、同じフレーズの繰り返しで、子供も自然と口ずさんでいます。

love to have literature across the curriculum, read as a part of our math, students then can take and read on their own time, gives another hands on, visual for the student

I read this to my Year 2 class and they loved it! They were soon joining in the story and it was a great stimulus for multiplication and division work. However it is a good story in its own right. I would recommend this to Year 2 and 3.
