I bought this instead of the Hornady version. While it is aluminum and probably not as durable it looks like it will do the job fine. At half the cost it was an easy decision. I have seen complaints from other users stating the tab used to stop the shell plate from spinning was not properly sized. This was not the case with mine. Everything works correctly.Bottom line. Recommended...

This is a decent wrench for Hornady’s superior lock ring system, but this wrench is aluminum and the lock rings are steel... Eventually - after thousands of uses - the lock ring slot on my wrench has deformed quite a bit. It’s still usable, and I get plenty of use out of the forked end (which fits the adjusting end on my Lee Universal Decapping Die) and the small hexagonal slot (which perfectly fits my RCBS and Lee dies’ adjustment nuts). All in all, this is a very useful tool. I’m in the market for a new one now, though, and I’m going to insist the new one’s made of steel.

This tool in combination with the Hornady lock rings is a great addition toy reloading toll box. I should have bought it sooner.

Well, it's a lot cheaper than the official Hornady one, and it works. The round protrusion for locking the shellplate on the press was a bit too big to fit in the place it goes, hence my docking it one star, but a moment's work with a file set it to rights. Looks like the powder coating takes it just a bit over tolerance. I do really like having a wrench that fits the Hornady lockrings, so I can change dies quickly.

The shell plate spur is slightly larger than the shell plate slot so you have to file a tad on it, but otherwise a cheaper and equally functional alternative to the expensive hornady wrench.

Great Value!! Quit whining about the "didn't fit the shell plate it's to big". Good grief!! If your smart enough to process your own bullets I would hope you could break out a little file and compromise fixing it. Big deal!!

Overall tool is useful for most Hornady Lock N Load adjustments, however, as noted in many reviews (wish I'd researched more prior to purchase) the fit in the shellplate is VERY tight. Seems to be better when sliding in from the side of the shellplate vs engaging from the top. Some filing has made it workable but wish I'd paid a little more for the Hornady.

The tool is pretty handy. The lug for the shell carrier was a little too big to fit, but a couple of minutes of careful grinding (you could file it was well) took care of that.I wish the die wrench was open ended. as it is, you can't use it on the powder measure. and can be awkward in some of the die stations.
