How Europe Underdeveloped Africa Paperback – October 1, 2011

This is an absolute classic on the realities of European colonization, and so great that it is available in kindle. This should be on the curriculum of every school, a superb refutation of the "white man's burden" and those that still attempt to lionize empire and colonization. Walter Rodney was a shining light snuffed out by an assassins bomb far too young.

Great resource and I highly recommend BUT my book is missing about 33 pages which is very heartbreaking. Especially since I just now noticed. Maybe that’s what I get for being a slow reader because now I am unable to return it.

A must read to better understand colonialism and the effects that still linger to this day

If one wants to know why many African countries are the way the are "undeveloped" then this book is a good start. The author Walter Rodney really gets specific about several aspects of how European countries undeveloped Africa. For example, Mr. Rodney explains the slave trade and how European countries imported cheap goods in Africa to drive out the Africa market. Also, Mr. Rodney explains how the foundation of economies began in Africa, and how it can be put in perspective before the colonial rule of the Europeans. This books has good information and it is a must buy.

To the young generations coming after us, please read this book. You will need it for your liberation, if not yours but those coming after you. To know history is important so it is not repeated.

I thought very highly of Verso and their ethos, however, this edition is absolutely shocking. There are so many typos; the most annoying thing is that I have gotten to page 158 only to see that the next page is 206!? And this is then repeated later on in the book. Do not buy this Verso copy. It is for the dogs. As I was using it for an essay, it is essentially useless because I cannot reference from it. I bought it from Amazon, so serves me bloomin' right and I cannot return it as it is past the date (point) of no return!

Cannot put the book down, wanted this book for the last 6 years, came at theright time in my life. One of the best books i have ever read, brilliant purchases.

3/4 of chapter 5 is missing! 😳😮 what's going on editor??Otherwise good quality

I have ordered this book twice. There is definitely a printing error, in both versions it jumps from page 158-191.This must be a manufacturing error

The content of the book is quite informative and sets one thinking deep and broad.
