Dated but thorough
This book is thorough but unfortunately has not been updated. As a newcomer to Netsuite, it’s a great intro but will need to search for more resources as there’s not a new edition closer to today (2023).

Bonus Chapters on "Companion Web Site"
Have been trying to log on to the 'companion web site' to read additional information about a topic in the book. The web address takes me to some kind of dating website. There are 7 bonus chapters listed in the table of contents in the book but apparently they aren't really a bonus. What a disappointment. This is the 2nd "Dummy" book I've purchased. Guess I'm the dummy for buying them. Many times the book says to "select this option from this menu" only to realize that the option that's supposed to be selected isn't available. Maybe I have a different version but is maddening when trying to learn something new & the instruction book doesn't even pertain to your choices nor does the training material from the software company. It's also so extremely frustrating to not be able to reach a person to even ask a question.

Good Book overall - but Netsuite still sucks
Netsuite is powerful and has many awesome features. It is massive and takes a lot to learn.Depending on how big an organization is the cost to implement netsuite could be 2-3 times more than the software. (and in my case the software was 80,000USD)That level of complexity gives you the power, but netsuite doesn't engineer their software smartly. They just keep adding on and it makes for a bad overall platform.Of course this book was very helpful to establish some basic netsuite lessons for new people in the company especially and I would therefore say to anyone who already has netsuite that this book is a welcome addition to your library and I would highly recommend it. If you haven't already purchased netsuite - DO NOT BUY IT!

Good first intro
This book is a good source on knowledge on Netsuite. It's a little older so it is mildly outdated but the core of the information is there. I also really like the humor that this book brings with explaining some of the topics making it easy to read.

Pretty disappointed
I'm halfway through this book and have to say I'm fairly disappointed. I'm a seasoned accounting professional and know that many companies in the Bay Area use Netsuite; hence I wanted to find out more about it.First, if you don't actually have access to the software the screenshots are TINY so really hard to see.Second, this book was published in 2011. I assumed incorrectly that it would be updated like regular textbooks. But it's not and we all know how quickly technology changes.Third, the entire value of the Netsuite platform is its integrated "modules". However this book does not talk anywhere about how a sales order automatically gets converted into an invoice. This was one of the main reasons I purchased this book, to see how Netsuite handles this part of the quote to cash process.Fourthly, revenue recognition is a huge topic in the Silicon Valley and this book completely leaves out that part of the functionality. Finally, this can be seen as a pro or a con but if you are already an accountant, the book does spend some time on explaining basic accounting concepts.

With lines like "Who knew that a list could improve your productivity ...
Pros: gives an in-depth introduction to NetSuite, how to use it, and how to customize it.Cons: not nearly objective enough in its treatment of NetSuite as a tool. With lines like "Who knew that a list could improve your productivity this much?" and "Watch in amazement as NetSuite changes your home page to suit that role", it felt like I was reading a sales brochure written by NetSuite's cheerleader squad. I get that the book's fortunes depend on conveying the benefits of using NetSuite, but do they have to be so obvious about it?

Concise and effective.
I started using NetSuite last year for work and wish, after now reading it, I had had this book from day one. The "For Dummies" series are known in general as great resources for quick tips and helpful tools, and this version doesn't disappoint. Even after having used NetSuite for almost a year before picking it up, I still found new and interesting things. It has helped me be more effective and productive in our NetSuite system.

Not very helpful
This book had some good points but most of it was useless. My company recently mitigated to NetSuite and we still have some questions such as entering budgets. Nothing in this book, nada. Customizing reports, some info. Approving vendor invoices - nothing. I've used quite a few of the "For Dummies" books and found them quite helpful. This book was disappointing.

I feel a bit of a dummy for buying this book.
I made the mistake of buying this in Kindle version. Kindle is great for a book that is a good read, but not for a reference/text book. Maybe that has unfairly tainted my opinion of it, but I have very recently completed a NetSuite installation at my company and I can honestly say that this book was no help whatsoever. I've given it two stars rather than one only because I might have been a little less critical if I had read it in non-electronic format.

And I'm the Dummy
What can I say that hasn't been said before. The book lacks detail, skips over many key subjects and Manufacturing is almost completely absent. More of a paperweight than a guide, give it a miss.
