I've had surgery on both knees and it works for me! But I had to sand and finish it myself.
I've had surgery on both knees, so I need an adjustable bench that can let me take some pressure off the knees. I like sitting seiza, but my old seiza benches were too low and put too much bending pressure on the knees. I've used it several times now and adjusted the height a bit to find my perfect fit and I love it. The fabric is definitely more comfortable than the solid benches I have, even when padded. I also love the easy portability - I put it in my duffle bag and took it on a recent trip so I could meditate comfortably.I love the design; my only complaint is the build quality. Mine came with very rough woodwork - it would definitely have picked synthetic leggings or tights. I realize it is plywood, but that's no excuse. I took the fabric and elastic off mine, sanded it down and applied another coat of polyurethane, then repeated that process to get smooth edges and finish all around; now it's perfect. That's the only reason I took off a star, otherwise would be five.

Beautiful, functional, portable and super lightweight!
I love just about everything about this innovative and beautiful bench. From it’s attractive styling, portability to it’s functionality it is a marvel and much more comfortable than other benches for me. HOWEVER, I am tall and could use a little more height to get my knees in a comfortable position sitting seiza. The highest setting is close, but not quite where I need it - or I would give it 5 stars. Would be so wonderful if Still Sitting came out with a tall version as the standard benches do.

A good seat is not a luxury - this is a really good seat
Wow. I've sat on many things on sesshin the last few years. Gomdens, tall zafu, short zafu, buckwheat and cotton, butterfly cushions, a folding chair, seiza of various height. I've usually been in significant pain and rarely feel like I'm in an ergonomic pose that isn't battering my body. This is definitely the best so far.The mesh seat pushes my back into traditionally militaristic posture without straining or striving. I feel quite stable as long as I don't move, which isn't supposed to be happening anyway. My knees don't hurt, and my legs don't get sleepy.I bet this will be really good on sesshin. I'm planning on doing a retreat in the Antaijji style. Just sitting and walking literally all day; no rest periods, interview, work practice, dharma talk, .etc.I do feel a little weird about buying such an expensive, pretentious seat. I've in the past mentally mocked fellow sitters for having seats that look like they belong in an art museum. But thinking about the cost per hour sitting in it, this will probably work out pretty cheap. Pennies an hour?

Did not work for me
Interesting design and I am glad it works for many who have written reviews. I found the velcro to be hard to adjust. It is so strong. I was not able to find a comfortable position. When too low, I was crunched up; when too high, the circulation in my legs was hampered.

Very comfortable, helps with my posture
I'm really glad I bought this meditation bench. It's very comfortable and worth every penny. Both posture and circulation has been an issue for me since I started meditating a year ago. I prefer to kneel for meditation as it's easier for me to maintain an upright posture. I can kneel for much longer without my legs going to sleep with this bench. I've tried a meditation pillow before with a kneeling pose and my legs still went to sleep after about 10 to 15 minutes. I really like that it's light weight and portable so I can take it with me when I travel. I also like that it's made locally. I would recommend this to anyone, especially if they are not able to sit in a lotus or half lotus pose or if kneeling for a long time is uncomfortable. I'm in my late 40's and 5' 10" tall.

Great Meditation Bench for Knee Issue
Having knee issues, and wanting to meditate in a kneeling position, I decided to try the Nomad medititation bench. I bought the larger version for the extra height. The velcro areas are generous and can make it a bit difficult to adjust but it does allow you to fine tune the bench to the height that you need.I don't plan on traveling with the bench but I did not find the larger bench all that heavy.I've meditated using a zafu and zabuton and another brand of wooden kneeling bench. This bench is currently my favorite.

Not compatible with my body
I purchased this for travel, but when it arrived and I tried it out, I found that the base interfered with my lower legs when I tried to kneel on it. Sent it back immediately. It's a cool idea, and the design is beautiful, but sadly, was not compatible with my body and meditation posture.
