Working great for controlling an electric floorpad heater while generating little RFI
I have an electric (heated) floor mat under my desk for my feet. It runs too hot when my feet are in socks, so I put it on a dimmer. That worked but caused static on my speakers and headphones, and worse, on my microphone. It looked like this device had a different electrical design, so I tried it in place of the dimmer. There is still a little static with the setting between 7 and 10, but lower settings and full-on produce no noticeable RFI.I screwed it down to a board for safety and convenience, since the terminals are (somewhat) exposed.I've had it running full time for several weeks now. This device never gets hot (or even warm), and my feet (and ears) are very pleased.

Does not work
Absolutely no change in voltage or amperage. Does nothing.

Variable speed switch
This unit appears to be very well constructed and will be used in my home built rock tumbler. It is constructed for easy installation and the connectors are readily accessible.

Works well but range is limited.
I am using this to control an angle grinder so I can use it with buffing wheels. It works pretty well but the grinder doesn't start turning until the knob is over half way round. This limits how much of it's rotation is left for actual speed adjustment. So the adjustment is a little coarser than I had imagined, but it works well enough. I would also have thought that it would have had some sort of cord grip mechanism to secure the cables to it rather than just depending on the electrical terminals to hold them in place.

dont buy
the only reason it got one star is it wont let me do a zero. does not change the voltage at all. i even changed the potentiometer to no avail this thing is junk and i waited to long to open it to send it back

works just as advertised!
Using it for fine adjustment of a 110VAC fan. Works great!

Does not work / do not buy.
This thing ran the motor for all of 3 seconds and then it's internal fuse blew, this device is supposed to be rated for 4000 watts and the motor only runs at 708 watts, the fuse should not have blown.EDIT...I ordered new fuses for this motor controller and replaced the blown one with a brand new one, I turned the speed control all the way up so that the motor would not get bogged down during power up and turned on the power, the motor started to move and then less than a second later the fuse blew.120 volts multiplied by 10 amps (the fuse) = 1,200 watts, how this thing is rated for 4,000 watts is beyond me.DO NOT buy it!
