Heel Tip Replacement Cap & Wrap (2 Pairs)

I know there are a lot of negative reviews on this product, but I really think those are due to operator error. I followed the directions and they fit great, and look just fine. The black tape that joins the heel cap and the shoe is not actually sticky. You need to wrap it around the end of the shoe at least once, put the cap on and wrap the tape around the joining area of the cap and heel. You need to pull the tape tight, like shrink wrap. The tape will have some give to it. I am not going to lie and tell you that it looks beautiful, but I used this on a pair of older pumps that i wear with pants that come down to the ground anyway, so I don't care really. It is staying stong and I am hard on heels. I carry a purse and gym bag, and walk several block from gym to office, in wet Seattle. Give these a try. These actually work! You have to take your time putting them on so they don't look dorky, but I put them on my heeled boots that lost their heels in a week, and these have stayed on for at least 2 months of wear and tear. Kind of amazing considering how easy they are to put on.

I was really looking forward to these because it meant saving a ton of money repairing my shoes, otherwise I'd have to replace them. It took a large to fit on my booties, which I was slightly expecting due to the reviews I had read myself. The caps are not flexible at all though- I had to jam them on the heel in order for them to stay on long enough for me to wrap them. The wrap is equivalent to electrical tape, by the way. So if you have any shoes other than patent this is going to stick out. I didn't care because I wanted my shoes back. So far, they've stayed on great. I wrapped them really tight and made sure to envelope the heel tip completely on the top. But I have my shoes in wearable condition, and that works for me.

DO NOT purchase these. They are a complete waste of money. Trust me- I have so many heels with the silver ball poking out and I really thought this would be the solution to it all. WRONG. I am so upset at how these are advertised. The caps are are made of very cheap plastic and the "tape" does not stick at all. My boyfriend even tried to help me because I was so frustrated with the kit and he thought I purchased the kit from a dollar store! That's how horrible this product is. So not worth it. HORRIBLE quality and does not work at all. Please please please save your money and time!!

These helped save my favorite pair of heels! It is a quick and easy process to get the heel tips situation and there is no glue or mess involved. They aren't as quality as taking your shoes to a cobbler, but it gives them a couple more weeks worth of wear before having to get them professionally repaired.

At first I thought these were awful because they fell off - then I realized I was applying them wrong. You should wrap the band once before placing the cap, then wrap again 3 times. I LOVE this quick fix for all of my heels - sure beats the hell out of paying $70 for a sole repair.

I only have one pair of nice black heels that I tend to wear with lots of my professional outfits. I'm always walking across parking lots and down sidewalks in them around my college campus and so they had worn down to the nails. These caps saved me from having to buy a new pair of shoes -- it was fairly simple to put them on and they aren't really noticeable unless I point them out to someone (otherwise they look just like a slightly larger heel to the shoe). I love them! I've worn them several times and haven't had a problem yet.

If you are hoping the heel fix will be unnoticeable, you will be disappointed. I can definitely notice the black band that holds the heel tip in place (especially on my chocolate brown shoes). That being said, the heel tip was easy to put on and has held-up over time. You probably wouldn't notice the fix from a distance or while I was walking, but if you were sitting across from me and looking at my shoes you might see the band. Overall, I am just happy to have my shoes back, even if I do have to be selective in when I wear them (because of the visibility thing). To my knowledge there is not a shoe repair place near me, so this was my only option. FYI, I did include a dab of super glue when securing the heel tip, but to be honest, I think the band they provided is strong enough and the extra glue just made an extra mess.
