Good text
We used this as a text book! It’s a very small book and I was sent 2 copies of it I’m assuming on accident but it was a good text book for the price

Perhaps a book like this one could lead to some very important connections ...
Splendid! This book should be read by EVERY middle-school and high-school student in the country. Instead of the No Child Left Behind debacle and now the fluffy Common Core, why not not begin our students' education with truth instead of the romanticized, self-aggrandizing swiss cheese that passes for history in our schools. Perhaps a book like this one could lead to some very important connections to how we treat people globally as well as locally. Bring this into a Ward Churchill, David Stannard, Noam Comsky, and Howard Zinn mix and you will have a substantially different view of our history.

Lots of information about a dark period in history
This book followed a chronological approach from the beginning of slavery with the European slave trade to the slaves in America. It had some personal accounts and did not shy away from the horrors people had to face.

Interesting and thorough
Informative. The authors come from a clear position. But, it does give a good explanation of slavery's legacy in America.

Size matters....
This was to be a gift for an elderly relative, but the book is super small. It can fit in your pocket. Problem with that is, the print is also REALLY small. There's no way my elderly relative could manage that small print. The info in the book look appeared to be well organized and I most likely would have kept it if only it was a larger book with normal sized print, but I had to return it.

Useful read on the subject and All involved
A good read and nice to see that it shows that until 1700s it was white Europeans that were the main slaves in USA tricked into going for a new life and then worked in poor conditions alongside a minority of Africans. After an uprising by the slaves Africans were used more for the next 100years. Important to see that life has been hard for All the lower classes.
