Timely unlike my reviews

Last year I got decided to start collecting vinyl again. This was an obvious choice to start my collection. Lauryn Hill is amazing and THE SCORE is an all time classic.

Great quality for a great album

The reviews were kinda 50/50 so I was a bit hesitant to buy, but it was a pretty good turn out. I bought it for my boyfriend it’s his favorite album. It played smoothly and he was able to change the song with ease. He seems to really like it!

In 1996, The Fugees released this album, The Score. In my opinion, this album is amazing. I completely understand how it was nominated for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year at the 39th Annual Grammy Awards, becoming the second rap album to accept a nomination and the first for a hip hop group. That year, the group won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. I find this to be a rather fitting award, as this album was so well made and very pleasing to the ear. My favorite song on this album is “Killing Me Softly With His Song.” The group won Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for this song at the 39th Annual Grammy Awards. I grew up listening to this song and I have always felt moved by its smooth lyric delivery and silky sound. In the song, singer Lauryn Hill delivers her lyrics with such passion and emotion, causing any listener to be entranced by her words. This album also features a cover of the song “No Woman, No Cry,” originally performed by Bob Marley, another artist that defined much of my childhood experience. By making their rendition of the song unique to their musical style, The Fugees renew Marley’s classic. While the chorus remains the same as the original, the band worked to implement some of their own lyrics to add a personal twist. The last song on the album I would like to discuss is “Ready Or Not.” I would like to discuss this song because of the beautiful harmonizations in the chorus, as well as its poignant and meaningful lyrics. This album as a whole portrays the ghetto as a place possessing the ability to simulate honor and dignity, as well as hardship. This song is worth mentioning because of the raw emotion it evokes in not only its listeners, but also the artists performing it. During the recording session of this song, Lauryn Hill began to cry as she sang the bridge. Because of this unexpected emotional incident, the group had to record this song a couple of months later. In my opinion, this album as a whole is magical and moving. With its beautiful, raw, emotional lyrics and vocals, as well as its quick and talented rhythms, I can say with confidence that this album will remain a timeless piece of art.

Compré la edición en vinyl negro, es gatefold, pero llegó 2 veces con la funda lastimada y discos pandeados. Decidí comprar esta edición esperando fuera mejor. Funda sencilla un insert X y el color de los vinyl es naranja opaco, no traslúcido. No esperes nada especial el sonido es el mismo que en l otra edición de sony, repito NADA EN ESPECIAL de hecho la edición en vinyl negro es mejor y más barata. Este disco trae la calidad de prensado promedio en UK, del tipo de los hechos en Alemania, del montón. :(

Consegna perfetta come sempre da parte di Amazon. La versione (come da titolo) del vinile è la ristampa europea del 2018, colore arancione, è un buon master, suona molto bene, e i "pop" presenti negli intermezzi sono voluti come nel CD originale, effetti sonori voluti. Sull'album in sé non vi è molto da dire, è un classico.

The Score is a landmark album. This vinyl is beautiful and well pressed. I received great email responses and customer service when I had questions. I’m looking forward to making my next purchase with Rarewaves US.
