Heimu Drum Microphone Set W/7 Free 20' XLR Cables

For the price, I had no real illusions that this would be a great set of professional studio-quality microphones. I was just looking for an all in one set to throw on my drums for quick demos. The Heimu mic set didn’t quite meet that expectation.The Pros: (Nearly) Delivers as an all in one set. Look, you know this is a cheapo set, but placed in the right place, the large and small mics get a decent enough sound. Run through a decent mixer straight into your recording device, you can surely find a likable sound. Couple that with the fact that all of the clasps, stands, and chords are included, it makes getting set up fairly painless. I literally could have had this slapped together and into a mixer in ten minutes.The Cons: Yes, cheap set, and cheap materials. If you’re going to consistently remove the clasps on the small mics, they’re going to break/crack/snap. If you just leave them on I’m sure they’ll be fine. In addition, the stands for the overhead condenser mics may be the most flimsy stands I’ve ever come across. If you’re planning on moving them around frequently, they’re not going to last. Lastly, speaking of the overhead condenser mics, therein lies the main reason for a 2-star review. I don’t expect this price point to deliver the best quality, but I DO expect all of the components to work. Unfortunately, the overhead condenser microphones do not. At all. Neither one. I’d say getting a set where two of the seven microphones are mere props will knock down the rating quite a bit. Some say you get what you paid for, but I believed I was paying for ALL of the microphones to function. Sadly, this wasn’t the case, so buyer beware.In conclusion, I could see this as a four-star product if everything worked properly. If you choose to purchase this set, I sincerely hope you have better luck getting any sort of performance out of the overhead condenser mics, but my recommendation would be to spend a few more dollars on a more reliable set.
