The Craft of Temari

Slightly different method of starting the ball
Unlike most books on this subject, you don't start with a styrofoam ball as a base. You use yarn and nylon stockings. That aside, this book still has some very nice (and doable) patterns.

Beautiful book, lovely pictures
Beautiful book, lovely pictures! Not the best place for a beginner to start, however. Books have been published more recently that give more info and better-illustrated instructions. If you want to learn to stitch temari, I would not recommend this as your first purchase. That's my practical advice, but this is not meant to be a negative review. I am very pleased to own the book. Full of inspiration.

Beautiful Temari balls you can make with a bit of patience. The book is easy for me to understand. Requires some knowledge of crafting.

Really Like this book
This book offers good illustrations and great patterns. I am a beginner and the patterns were difficult to read - the instructions are not as thorough as they are in other books. This wouldn't be my suggestion as your only book if you are just starting out. Overall, I would recommend this book to everyone interested in the craft.

The Craft of Temari
Of all the books (other than the Japanese) available on this craft, I have to say that this is the best. For those of you interested in, or wanting to create a Temari this book will give you clear, concise instructions along with diagrams and designs to inspire. From easy to the more advanced, and all in colour. Thinking of trying Temari? Then you'll certainly need this book.Enjoy!Ginny

Inspiring book
Having recently done a Temari course at the Royal School of Needlework, I was keen to learn more. This book is brilliant, with many inspiring ideas for decorating the balls. Although I have not tried any yet, the instructions look clear and the good use of pictures show what the finished product should look like. I am thrilled with this purchase.

Great beginners guide
this has really helped with the basics as so much online assumes some knowledge.
