The Emotion Cards (Draw On)

Very useful in therapeutic work
I am a psychologist working with young people and have found these to be an excellent addition to my resource kit. Although the instructions provide a framework for their use, I have found them handy and flexible in many situations. The art work is lovely and has been the starting point for many interesting conversations.

For those who find it hard to express themselves
Great pack of cards when it’s hard for people to connect their feelings to make themselves understood

Very useful!
I am a psychotherapist and have found these cards very useful since I started using them. I was a bit dubious before purchasing, but am won over. I highly recommend them!

Wonderful working tool for counsellors and therapists.
A wonderful set of cards beautifully created to assist counsellors working with children or adults and focussing on felt emotions. Can’t recommend highly enough. Expensive yes but quite unique and well worth adding to your tool kit.

Excellent resource for supporting children and young people to express and identify emotions
I have used these cards to support my work with children and adolescents. I have found the images to be varied and expressive. The wording is useful for starting conversations and opening up a dialogue to support young people to understand their inner world.

great cards - shame about the written interpretation on them; also most of the people are White'ish
This could have been a great 5 star set of cards... but, having the emotions written on them stirs clients in a direction that they may not have gone into otherwise. Isn't it up to clients to project into cards what They might be feeling? However, I you want to use the cards for emotional literacy work with adolescents and adults, the interpretation written on them could be useful. Would be great to see the publication of a second set without words on them and with a more diverse groups of races and dis(ability) represented!

Disappointing quality, not worth the money
I am a therapist, and I bought these cards after seeing them in a friends toolkit. However, I am disappointed to find they are much more cheaply made then the earlier edition (which I can’t seem to get hold of). The card used for the images is much flimsier, and there is an unattractive matt finish to them, which really dampens the otherwise excellent images. Furthermore, they are packaged in a very cheap packet, that wothbrepeated use will easily come apart. Again, the previous edition had a lovely, strong presentation box. Seems some corners have been cut...I’d expect much better quality for the price!

The interpretations printed on each cards renders them useless in a therapeutic environment.
I think I have an earlier version of these cards which are glossy and very well made. They come in a nice sturdy box with a booklet of instructions. The pictures are lovely, but I agree with other reviewers in that they are not very diverse and it would be nice to have more that might reflect resilience. However, my biggest issue and one that I can't wrap my head around is why the designer decided to put interpretations on the bottom of the cards. When I look through the cards, my interpretation is never what is written on the bottom of the card, but my mind immediately goes to what is written and then my view is tainted or changed. I sold these on as they were useless to me for this reason (If I wanted to tell my clients what to think, I'd just do it and save myself some money).Clients need to be able to express what they see without being influenced, and it really surprises me that a tool made specifically for therapy made such an obvious error.

Perfect for therapy
As a counseling intern I wanted something that will help notnonly my clients but will also help me better understand their emotions and this is PERFECT. Can’t recommend it enough to all of my colleagues.
