Modern and reliable voice activation
I bought the Caseta smart switches to upgrade the controls of my lights and fans throughout the house. They install as easy as a regular switch. If you can install a light switch, you can install these smart switches. They connected easily to the hub using the Lutron smart phone application. From there you can add them to your Amazon Echo. And even if your wireless router goes down, you can still control everything by pushing the buttons on the face of the switches. I use the single pole switches to control my porch lights, the dimming switches and fans switches for all the interior rooms. Finally, the switches added a modern look and feel. I started upgrading my switches 5 years ago and had not had any problems whatsoever. The switches on the Precis side, but worth the money given the convenience and reliability.

Best way to make your lights SMART
These are not cheap, but they are the best. I've been slowly updating all my house switches to Lutron Caseta (budget permitting). I work in IT and having a SMART house is one of my goals, so together with updating to smart appliances, I've been updating all my light switches. I selected Lutron because they are a very well know company that has been providing electrical technology to hotels and businesses, so they are now bringing all that expertise to the consumer smart home market. I've been using them for 2-3 years now, and they are 100% reliable. I never had an issue with disconnections or wi-fi (their bridge works great and reaches all my house). So far I have 24 switches between regular switchers, dimmers and fan switches. By updating your switch, you do not need to change you bulbs or lights or Fan! For example if you have a room with 4 or 6 recessed light, you only change the switch and voila, you now have 4 or 6 smart lights. BTW, they look great.

The best Smart Switch System on the market
Lutron caseta is by far the BEST system for smart home automation. Some of you that post bad reviews about the Alexa-Lutron Skill saying it does not work or stopped working should maybe do your homework and/or UPGRADE your networking equipment. I have been using this system FLAWLESSLY for over 8 years. Most likely longer. Lutron caseta is the best and the switches and the skill has NEVER let me down. All problems I have EVER had ALWAYS end up being user error or networking equipment that needed to be upgraded. Please remember EVERTHING only works as good as the weakest link. I am a Master Electrician and I can say with out ANY doubt that Lutron makes the BEST smart switches on the market and the caseta line is by far the best out there. Stop complaining and set your network up with High end equipment and you will be very happy. If you use old outdated equipment your system WILL fail.

Wireless Functionality
replacement for older switch that was not compatible to updated security system; compatible with my other devices currently have. easy specific instructions for wiring and with pictures and only took 10 minutes to have completed. integrated with other systems in house without any problems. need a hub for it to work. works with cell phone effortlessly. has enough instructions to fully understand why you are getting and voltage restrictions. does well with my chandelier and ceiling light.

Lutron reliability
I am running Lutron products in my house and this smart switch works well. Easy to install, easy to use and reliable. I have had to call Lutron support in the past and their service is top-notch! Always helpful and pleasant to talk with.

High quality device that’s expensive and not great to look at
If you can wire a plug the install is easy and all parts are included. Lutron has produced a stable and reliable device that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Siri voice control is quite reliable. The downsides are high cost and frankly an ugly cluttered physical interface that’s twenty years out of date. I have a Levitron dimmer switch with touch interface in the same box that physically does the same things without the smart portion and Isn’t cluttered with buttons. How about we take that great engineering under the hood and produce some one, two, and three gang switch devices that are actually pleasant to look at.

Fantastic product.
the big advantage to having smart light switches rather than a smart bulb is if you turn off the switch you can remotely turn it back on. With smart bulbs if you turn off the switch the bulb does not have power and you will not be able to remotely turn it back on. Another big advantage is you can have one smart device running multiple lights rather than the smart bulbs were you only have one light. And finally one of the biggest advantages to me is I can use a switch to control outdoor lights. I am yet to see a smart bulb which can work outdoors in the extreme environments where I live with minimal Wi-Fi connection.

Line Load Neutral Ground
Like basically all other smart switches this requires a neutral connection. A lot of homes aren't wired for this configuration. Get an electrician to help if you don't know what any of that means. Lutron Caseta Switches require a Lutron Caseta Bridge to connect to anything. As of Jan 2020, there is a ~$100 kit with a switch and bridge which is value for money. The bridge frees up your wireless router bandwidth for the reliability of wi-fi smart devices. Also required is the use of the Lutron app on a single user account. Once these issues are overcome, this is the smoothest and most reliable smart switch I have used. I have replaced all of my other smart switches with the Caseta equivalents. Highly recommended.

I don't know about you, but finding lights left on drives me nuts! I originally started using Philips Hue a few years ago which was great, but pot lights and other integrated lights that can not be easily swapped out were still and issue until I started using Caseta. Slowly over time I have ended up moving away from Hue and almost fully transitioned to Caseta because the platform is solid, easy and reliable. Originally I only wanted dimmers, but these on/off switches have slowly levelled the field due to their price and other specific factors. At this point they have become a key piece in my overall home automation system. These are great for those types of lights that don't need to be dimmed (like porch, driveway, closest or stair lights. I have one on the switch that controls our outdoor plugs so I can turn on seasonal lighting instead of spending more on automation for things I only use a few months at a time. You can set them up as 3 way switches, use them on fans or other accessories as long as they meet the specs listed in the instructions. Some of these install options are NOT listed in the instructions but you hop on the google machine and you will find the details you need to make it work.

I got 16 of them installed all over the house. Switches are high quality, reliable and silent when turning them on and off with phone, pico remote or scheduled! Lutron app works flawlessly when adding switches to your system. Siri works great with them! Switches require neutral wire inside electrical box! Check before you order. The green led when off is set just right not to dim and not to bright. Manually switching is smooth. I hate the regular switches that are nothing but loud! There is a lot of junk on the market watch out! I had to install load capacitor in two places only because I was switching 6 - 4 watts leds. In my case they wouldn't turn off 100% but load capacitor took care of that nicely! Lutron PD-5ANS-WH-R switch rating is minimum load of 1 led 10 Watts. I must say I like them a lot and they look nice with claro screwless wall plates.

Used to control LED lights in the driveway. No flickering. Also, the switch it rather far away from the hub but there are no issues controlling the switch. We also us geofencing to turn on the lights when we arrive. Works flawlessly.

I added this system to connect my porch lights to HomeKit so they would come on at sundown with me having to deal with changing times or resetting clocks after power outages. I already had a Lutron Casseta bridge and dimmer connected. It works great. The main issue I had was that I didn't realize how my existing two-way switch was wired. The porch lights just blinked on and off every second until I got that worked out. I wish the blinking was described in the instructions so I could have found the issue sooner. I didn't know if the unit was defective or if it was my bad guesses at the wiring. Once I worked it out the operation was flawless. I plan to add more switches and dimmers from this line as it is one of the few that supports all three systems: Apple HomeKit, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa - so you can't go wrong.
