Way to Live: Christian Practices for Teens

There are several kinds of books available for Christian youth and youth pastors. First is the "idea book"--full of activities that usually fall flat on their faces without extensive retooling. Second is the "theory book"--books that explore the theology of youth ministry. Way to Live is something relatively new--strong, solid spiritual practices for Christian youth and anyone who works with them. Rooted in Christian tradition, these practices are great for retreats or for the individual youth who wants to go deeper with their faith. It's a good read for adults, too. In Way to Live, church history, tradition, and ancient spirituality are combined with the modern faithful as well as pop culture icons. This book helps make spirituality accessible!

I have used this book for three Confirmation Classes and feel that it is well written and relevant. It could use updating as some of the references are outdated, but it does not impact greatly on the messages conveyed.

I ordered this book (even though I already own a copy) to use in preparation for a Lenten Study at church. The actual information in the book deserves a 5 Star rating as always, but this particular copy which was listed as Used - Good and I'd say it's more like a Fair - Significantly Used copy. The cover is bent and the first 30 pages have been notably marked up. If I wasn't in need of the book right now, I would return it immediately.

As a youth minister I found this book extremely helpful. I bought one for every student and we read through this book together while practicing the spiritual disciplines or Christian practices. It is practical as well as full of great insight. One of the thinks the teens enjoyed were the stories and insights written by teens.

Great book for younger teens. We also use it as a guide (along with the leader's guide) for our younger middle school small groups.

A good way to introduce interpretations and implementaions of scripture with youth.

Arrived in a timely manner and was what I wanted.
