Amazon Basics Socket Set (201 Piece)

Excellent starter kit. Comprehensive and looks good quality. A great kit if you are just starting out with mechanics. Slightly more suited to a motorcycle as it does not include the larger sizes you might need for a car but these can easily be suplimented. Great value.

Fantastic set, not just for the money, but in its own right. I have a lot of tools built up over 30 years, including sockets, various extensions, ratchets etc etc - but it's all in my big tool chest and often scattered about the workshop. What I wanted was a "grab and go" suitcase that could cope with quick jobs, even some more moderate jobs, ready to go at all times. To throw in the boot when going away, that kind of thing. I was between this, and the more expensive Halfords professional equivalent. The Halfords is far nicer for sure, and the lifetime garauntee is handy, depending what end of your life you are at 🤣. But I could buy like 4 or 5 of these, for the price of one Halfords set. So really, moot point. Anyway, despite maybe not having the polish of the Halfords set, it's still very decent. Does the job and does it well. I've grabbed it for removing vacuum solenoids, electronic turbo actuators, all manner of interior and under bonnet stripdown, and it's just worked. Absolutely perfect for what I wanted - grab and go, self contained, good mix of sockets, ratchets, Allen keys, screwdriver handle and bits, spanners and more. Can tackle most things, and easy to see if something is missing when the jobs done. Oh and the case is superb too, tough, good latches, and latches on the side too. Very secure, it isn't going to just fall open on you. Each part of the set is held firmly in its place, haven't had anything dislodge yet. So yeah, as my grab and go back up set, love it. Anything more serious and I can pull out the proper gear. Fantastic purchase 👍

Great value and the tools feel good quality.

Bought this kit for some DIY work on the car. Fairly good kit for the price if you’re looking to do some small jobs. Only fault i had was the sockets only go up to 17mm. Little disappointed as i bought this set to do an oil change but my sump plug was 19mm. Bought a cheap 19mm socket and I was back in business. Cant fault it, great kit.

Good for the money

A great first timers set.

I was worried buying this as there are so many bad reviews about cheap socket sets splitting under heavy load. I bought the set to extract a couple of really locked in 14mm nuts. It did the job really easily. The weight of the set is a good sign. Everything is heavy - there is a lot of steel in this. There is a lot of variety in the smaller sizes (13mm and below) parts including metric and imperial sizes. The two spanner arms are strong and solid. There is very little above this size though. Personally I'd have preferred a few more at the large end rather than so much doubling up down low. The addition of a cheap screwdriver set is utterly pointless as nobody buying a large socket set is not going to own something far superior already. The case is also slightly annoying as its hard to get the pieces out of the plastic moulding. Thats about all the screwdriver set is useful for! Still amazing value though and significantly cheaper than branded sets for what seems like equal quality. This is a really good purchase and excellent value.

Finally I have good handle socket set for my car. They are absolutely great quality and amazing 3 torques opportunity with sizes and feeling all items bits are solid designed.

Very good quality for the price , but its not craftsman quality.

The set seems sturdy, but no magnetic screw driver heads. Hence it is really hard to screw bolts, especially up side down ones.
