Energy Efficient Single Speed Pressure-Side Pool Cleaner Booster Pump, 3/4 Horsepower, 115/230 Volt

The pump arrived at my home ahead of schedule. It replaced an existing pump that I have had for 10 years. It was simple to install and it working great.

It was my fault for thinking it was a Polaris unit, it is not. After I had the booster pump installed it wouldn't start. We flipped the power switch on and off 2 or 3 times and it seemed to be jammed. It started running on the 4th try so I thought it just must have been tight inside the unit. After running for about 10 minutes I noticed a puddle under the motor. I checked the hose connections, new but not included with this unit, and they were dry. The motor was very hot and the water was coming from the front end of the motor. I had the unit removed, to be returned. Amazon was totally cooperative on the return. They even arranged for UPS to pick up the unit at my house. Unfortunately this is the second time this month that I have received an item from Amazon that was damaged or defective. While Amazon was more than accommodating, in both instances, it troubles me that these products are sub standard. FYI I was able to get a true Polaris Booster Pump from another online seller for about the same price, and this included the hose and connectors.

Pump replaced a pump that went out. Install was straight forward and it went in just fine. Very easy install and durable to boot. Reviewed after more than 6 months installed. Still works perfect

This is not a 'Polaris' pump. It is an aftermarket motor. The pump housing looks to identical to the original. It works as expected. I took off a star because the mounting platform is not the same height as the original. This caused a major headache when trying to reconnect to the original PVC. I wound up using flexible water heater hose to avoid the nightmare of trying to match pipes which are off by an inch. The electrical 'box' on the pump is larger than the original which helps reconnecting the electrical. Is it pre-wired for 220.Another point, now that I have been through a winter with it. The little drain plug that you remove when it freezes, doesn't. It doesn't matter whether pump is running or not, when the plug is out no water comes out. Not sure what to make of this. ??

Pump bought in Nov 2016, failed in early 2017. Replaced under warranty after contacting seller directly. No problem, very courteous gentleman. Pump has failed again about five days ago. Leaks at seal, motor runs well. contacted seller again, talked to a less than courteous lady who said I had to get warranty serviced through Amazon.

Resembles the polaris brand motor, install was easy and it fit like the original. Mine had a bad bearing, after a short run in it started squeezing and got very hot. Return accepted with no problem though, good luck!
