Bad for high-powered devices
Bought this to use with a bunch of external HDD hard drives. Did a test today using a Seagata 5TB Backup Plus Portable connected to a small extender connected to the hub, and a 10 foot USB extension cable connected to the cord coming out of the hub. Didn't work. Tried the same set of connections on a Sabrent Hub (without switches), it worked fine.Curious as to why, I pulled out my trusty Ruideng USB power meter, and found that the hub was drawing .3-.5amps of power *from the computer* when plugged in, despite being connected to AC power. My sabrent hub was only drawing around .001amp of power from the computer, with the same setup. The hub looks nice, the buttons are very clicky, satisfying and easy to press, and it's small. The material feels nice in the hands but isn't very conducive to command strip hanging if you wanted to do that. The biggest problem is really the amount of power going to it. The power adapter says that it only supplies 1 amp to the hub, where as the adapter for my Sabrent hub supplies 4 amps. So this Windyoung hub is definitely going to rely on your computer to supply that extra power, which for some may defeat the purpose.

Piece of junk that did not work.
I spent 10 hrs yesterday reorganizing my PC & external flash drives & external hard drives. I bought this thinking it would be the perfect size and make my life a lot easier & safer since I'd be able to turn off what I had plugged into it. 1st I had buy an extension cord since the power cord is so short. I had to move a lot of furniture just to get to the back of my PC. I thought I'd be so much saver since it had a power cord as well as a usb cord to plug into my computer. After a complete day of messing with logistics I found out it was useless. It will not even recognize a thumb drive or my external storage drives. The damn thing wouldn’t even recognize my doggle for the mouse. I had such high hopes plus I'll never get back that whole day. It should have been a 1 hour job at most. The one and only port that worked made me run a scan on it everytime I turned it on. It also will not let me save an Excel worksheet on the flash drive stating it wasn't in proper format. I worked in an IT department for 15 years so I know how these things work. My grandson also helped me with the crawling around on the ground since I'm disabled. I've never been so disgusted with a piece of equipment. I can’t return because I don’t have the time or ability to undo what was done.

Suitable based on lifestyle
The "USB 3.0 Hub with Individual LED Power Switches" worked fine. I never needed to connect more than four or five things at one time, so I can only speak on that. Every device worked and/or charged just fine while plugged in. I do not recommend this hub for people on the move. If you're using this at home or in an office where you'll move the hub infrequently, this hub will suit you just fine. However, if you're like me and you must bring your laptop to classes, to home, and to work, this port is not going to last. Mine lasted less than three months. The hub itself still works with its adapter, but the blue usb connection part is already broken. The metal within the blue cord detached easily. Therefore, I can no longer use the hub for connection to my laptop, which was the MAIN reason why I needed this product. Overall, a solid 3/5, a D, or 60%. This product is worth $10, not $19.

Very good for the price.
I used an external SSD to test data rates. They were within 10MB/s of the rates when the SSD was plugged directly into the laptops USB 3.0 SS port. Not sure but I think they were between 380mB/S and 410MB/s. After several weeks of almost daily use I have had not problems with it. The USB cable that comes with it is flat which makes it hard to route. For my needs it was a little short. Also the external power adapter's cord isn't very long (~3 ft). It would not reach from an outlet near the floor to the Hub when it was on my desktop. It comes with a plastic box to store everything in.

Don't wait to try it out
Many positive reviews tells me I MAY have a defective item. Too late to return it though.I have 6 USB 3.0 external drives of 1 to 2 TB each. I have a very simple 4 port usb hub which gives me 3 extra ports, but it's 2.0; then I plug the other 3 drives in the computer's usb ports. With everything else usb, I ran out of ports and rather than buy another of the 2.0 hub that worked, I figured I'd get this one.But I didn't try it out until now. And the drives do not work when they are all plugged in. Through trial and error I saw that any ONE drive will work in any of the device's ports, as long as no other drive is plugged in. Sort of defeats the purpose though obviously. Two or more drives renders the entire port hub inoperative. A drive and a flash drive worked, and I suspect it might work with a drive and keyboard or mouse too. But that's not why I bought it. So I'm back to my original configuration and will by a cheaper four port hub for expansion.

Nice quality & Matches product description
This is a nice 7-way USB plug Splitter. It has 7 USB ports each with its own On/Off power switch. It comes with a USB cord to connect to a computer and a power cord because 7 devices is too demanding power-wise for a computer so this external power source provides the necessary power that a computer lacks. The only thing that could be improved is the USB cord for connecting this Splitter to the computer is rather short, but it works and can be worked around rather easy if the cord were to be too short.

USB Hub station rocks!
I like this one because its powered and the way the ports are lined up horizontal with on/off switches. Out of all the ones I looked at (tons), I decided on this one for those reasons. I use it on my laptop that only has 2 ports, ans I use them for internet connection and wireless mouse. Makes the USB ports for thumb drives and stuff a LOT easier to plug in and out. So far works great and have no issues with it. Try it, you'll like it !!

solidly built, good design
I bought this to replace one where two switches stopped working. The switches on this are solid rocker switches - they are not going to stop working! It is a great design , better than the USB ports being on the top like other models. The lights are big and clear. The adapter ensures that USB devices get enough power. The description is accurate - it is only for USB devices and not for charging.
