Beautiful illustrations, calming gentle text, just a perfect book. The board book was a little warped, which was disappointing as I couldn't bend it straight before giving it as a gift.

I had this book as a child and my parents gave it to me which I read to my child. For a year, I could not find the book said, I'll just order this one already it's not six dollars. It was in perfect condition as.z n DC m th daughter was happy. This is a newer edited version, for don ed reason the wording was slightly changed, maybe to opting less words? Today my daughter found the old company. She was snooping ggv around a d it was hidden under daddys cluttet. I'm so happy and now we have an extra cooy in case lost one.

If you are reading this book for the first time, you'll most likely love it as we love the original. It's an extremely cute, easy to read and remember book for children. If you're looking for a great bed time routine book, I would recommend this book and hope that yours will need replacing in thirty years.The book follows children as the get ready for bed. It shows different places that you may sleep (bed, hammock, futon) as well as some animals sleeping. Finally, it ends with two children, wide awake in the morning, while mice and owls sleep the day away.If you came looking for the original, unfortunately, this new version changes the words, phrasing, and placement of the text. Comparing this book side by side with an original, it quickly became apparent that this book has been updated and changed. I purchased three copies: one as a replacement and two more for gifts. Our original has been loved too much by sticky fingers and is falling apart.Most likely the changes to text and font have been made to help kids as they're beginning to read and recognize words.Pros:Same cute illustrations- little kids and animals, no adultsGist of the story is the sameNice boardbook binding and pagesCons:None, unless you're looking for the original.Changes, specifically: font, wording, and worst of all, the sloth page no longer has the upside down text!

This was a treasured book when my child was young. She is now an adult with 3 children of her own. I searched and was elated to find it as a gift for baby shower of a niece who is expecting her first child.

This book was one of my favorite bed time books as a child. I actually still have my VERY well loved, 35+ year old copy. I decided to buy this copy for my toddler daughter to try and keep the original in tact. My daughter loves the same things I did as a child: it’s beautifully illustrated and teaches all about sleep. She loves the pages about how animals sleep and the one about sleeping in a hammock. This book is quickly becoming a second generation bedtime tradition.

This is not the exact same book as we have from the early 1980's. Some of the wording is changed (which I noticed because I read it so often when my girls were little that I had it memorized! Also have the original book so was able to verify the changes) Bought this for my newest grandchild and while the pictures are the same, the changes to the words were disappointing.

Once again Gyo Fujikawa delivers such beautiful illustrations and simple text. We love his books in our family and they have lasted through the siblings. This one is a gift for a new baby boy which he will no doubt grow to love.

Lovely little book for a very young child.

My daughter loves it and so do I. Lovely images, full of peace. The first page makes you sleepy!

Mother Goose She is just the best when it comes to books for children. It is hard to find Gyo Fujikawa's books but it is worth the search. Every single kid I ever gave her books to just love them. Impecable and correct in all senses. Mother Goose
