Best Toothbrush on The Market
I have been using the HydraBrush for 4 years after my hygenist recomended the product. My gums were receeding and after 3 months of using the HyrdraBrush my gums began to improve. This is by far the best tooth brush on the market. I spend half the time brushing my teeth with my teeth staying clean and whiter then ever. I did have to replace my first HydraBrush under warranty because the battery didn't last during the first year. I'm noticing after 2 years the battery charge will only hold for about half the amount of time from when the brush was new. Great value for the price and there is no better toothbrush on the market.

Not always appropriate
This is a great concept for a toothbrush which was suggested for use by a member of a Parkinson's Disease support group. My spouse has PD but cannot use this toothbrush because it requires that the handle be held lightly between index finger and thumb horizontal with the teeth/mouth. He is unable to hold the handle correctly at shoulder level in a horizontal position or to hold it lightly but grips the handle like a conventional electric toothbrush. His inabilities are physical, not due to mental decline.

it really is a better brush
HydraBrush really works for me: I visit the Dentist every 3 months for cleaning and the Hygienist said best checkup ever for last 2 visits: I attribute this to HydraBrush:My only issue is the battery: I tried the 30 Second Smile version (uses same brush heads) and it ate up non rechargeable batteries: and the battery compartment is not water tight: HydraBrush solved that with rechargeable batteries but they need to do better: get rid of the clumsy charging plug & jack and use better batteries. I had a problem with one HydraBrush not holding its charge: they promptly sent me a replacement handle at no charge: excellent customer service.Other gripe is the 3 position switch: it is impossible to tell which way to turn it on/ high/ low while you are using itBe sure you use the rubber splash guard around the neck: it really helpsI have tried most every electric toothbrush on the market: HydraBrush is my choice: excellent idea: good implementation that could be even better: I hope they continue to improve it ideally with a sealed handle

Nice Idea - Does not carry through
I had bought the previous model of this toothbrush, and used it for two years even though in the last 6 months it was not quite doing the job it once did. No complaints on an item used several times a day. So I bought this newer model which was supposed to be an improvement. I used it less than two months (closer to one!) and it was sluggish and intermittent. I thought maybe the rechargeable batteries were not working well, so tried regular batteries. It is not doing the job! I love the idea, but they need to make a more commercial model. I did contact the manufacturer under warranty, but all they would do is give another of the same model that does not work, even though they have a newer one that is just coming out. I would gladly have paid the difference but that was not an option. I am hesitant to buy this brush again and be stuck with only the option of having another of the non-working model sent to me. I am really disappointed. Great idea but they did not make it durable. Throw away item. Don't waste your money.

Wouldn't buy again.
Toothbrush works fine until the batteries stop recharging, no way to replace them, and the on off switch quits working.

My second Hydrabrush
I had the old version of the Hydrabrush, and this one is way improved. I've also had an Oral B fancy pants toothbrush, but gave it away as I was not impressed. The first Hydrabrush I had lasted for at least a good year and a half of twice daily use. It quickly became something I took for granted, and when it stopped running I had to buy another because who wants to spend 2 minutes brushing teeth? When I wake up in the morning I'm so barely conscious that I nearly fall asleep in that time. I've mistaken Neosporin for toothpaste before. Not fun.Hydrabrush takes less time to use than other toothbrushes because it covers all the areas of your teeth at the same time. It's good for sensitive teeth because it's not overly abrasive. The way it's used is: place the brushes facing out on the metal pins on the top. Turn the dial and hold the unit horizontally, biting down gently in the middle of the bristles. It moves along my teeth easily enough and all I have to really do is hold it there. The old Hydrabrush versus the new one:-The old model had a dial on the side to adjust speed, great if my teeth are feeling sensitive. The new model has one, slower speed.-Old model had a bulky power cord to recharge the battery. New model has removable AA batteries and an included battery charger. You have to charge the unit at least overnight before the first use, but this is a way more streamlined approach. Be aware though that there are removable parts, that there is no + - guide on how to actually place the batteries in the unit, and if you get any moisture in the battery unit it voids the warranty. This is a problem. Regardless if you get the interior of the battery compartment wet, it will likely rust because bathrooms can be warm and humid from time to time. Don't plan on it lasting for years.- The old model was... old looking. It was bigger and made of beige plastic. Nothing says' not cool' like beige. The travel box was made of hard plastic, and took up too much space. Conversely, the new model has a zip close vinyl bag. There are no cords since it uses rechargeable batteries. It's also made of white plastic. Awesome.-The old unit didn't really have a console worth using. There was no place to put the brushes other than on the toothbrush itself. This wasn't a good idea as the moisture from the wet toothbrush could damage the components. The new unit has a console similar to an Oral B electric toothbrush. It has a place to rest the Hydrabrush, and a covered plastic compartment to store 2 sets of brushes. I always remove the brushes when I'm done brushing my teeth to avoid rusting components.-Both models have the same replaceable brushes, which usually get food stuck in between their bristles more so than regular toothbrushes. It's pretty gross, so I had to make sure I soaked the brushes in peroxide often.-Neither unit is waterproof. Don't even think of using this in the shower. All in all I think it's worth it. It's so easy to use I'd feel like a real loser if I went to bed without brushing my teeth, it only takes a matter of seconds! My dental checkups have been good. When this Hydrabrush wears out I will buy a new one.I have to give it 4 stars because it's obviously a toothbrush. A toothbrush would have to be way amazing to get 5 stars out of me. Brushing teeth isn't something that thrills me. But I'm glad to get it over with faster which is why I use this thing.

My life long search to find the perfect method of cleaning and maintaining my teeth and more ...
My life long search to find the perfect method of cleaning and maintaining my teeth and more importantly gums, has finally come to an end. This product that I have used continuously for 4 years has given me the satisfaction of a job well done. The brushing of one's teeth and gums is not an easy task to be done manually without some kind of assistance. The widely used rotating brush head is only partially effective I have found but the back and forth movement of this device accomplishes a 100% cleaning result.
