Klein Tools 11055EP Wire Cutter and Stripper, Made in USA, Stranded and Solid Wire Cutter, Cuts Copper

Wow! Just wow! I got these because neither of my old pairs had a j loop hole & I saw youtube vids showing how to use it. I have never been able to make a decent j loop with my needle-nose pliers. So (since I have to rewire every box in the bloody house!!) i figured I could give them a try just for that. I have never had a set of wire strippers that worked this well. I am astounded! I have always thought that wire strippers were just a pain in the butt and couldn't figure out how anybody could possibly use them in their job. I have always used the automatic strippers and that works very well for me. The reason I never liked using them is because I've never had a pair that were sharp. These are amazing. They actually have the little j loop hole, which none of my other ones did. So I'm quite pleased. They feel good in my hand and I have very small hands, so it's really nice that they fit in them. I am sure they would fit bigger hands too, but it is super annoying when I can't use something like this becasue they are not ergonomic and bigger hands can force them to work... but I can't. The only complaint I have is that the grip lock does not keep them closed all the way, which means that I have those same wonderful sharp edges exposed and I have already cut a finger on them. *sigh*

These things are my go-to for my around the house wire cutting / wire stripping. I have alternate off-brand strippers which work but I just have much greater luck with these bad boys. I've primarily used them stripping 10AWG-14AWG Romex. I wish I had these sooner. The locking mechanism is decent and quick to release. The end plier is also useful. The durability of the blades is also quite respectable. The spring return also works well. I kept these in my pocket long enough that they also work great for opening the electrical panel doors (not their intended use) but hey, tools are tools, right?

Works and functions well. My only complaint is the position of the lock lever. It's positioned where I frequently push it into the closed position when cutting or stripping wire. So a bit annoying to often be unlocking the lever. Otherwise it was a good add to my tools.

I didn't realize after 3 years how worn my original pair had gotten. I ordered a new one and immediately noticed how easily it cuts and how easy it is to work with when the blades aren't chipped from steel wires. For $20 they'll do premium work, longevity depends on your usage and misuse.
