I used this chair daily for the better part of a year, and as shown in my photos, it held up quite well despite the extreme wear I placed on this chair. I was excited to find a small form factor chair (that could fit in a duffle bag) while still maintaining back support. Even better, the chair was made in the U.S.! I was disappointed to return home (hoping to buy a couple more!) to find that the company no longer stocks their product on Amazon. However, their products are still listed on their website, so please consider giving them your patronage for their high quality product.

As it was recommended by a plein air artist I decided to try this chair (actually bought 2). It is sturdy, lightweight and comfortable. The other reviewers are correct: the back gives great lower lumbar support. My son wants one for guitar playing. I like that it is higher than many camp stools, as it will be great to be used in a pinch when an extra chair is needed at the table or by a desk. Its multiple uses make up for its relatively high price. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Bottom line- This chair is lightweight but sturdy. While other camping chairs may pack smaller, they also require more setup and put you close to the ground, making getting in and out of them a hassle. Roll a Chair sets up in seconds and is at a very comfortable seating height. I do wish other colors were available on Amazon, as opposed to just their website.

I absolutely love this chair for its comfort and stability. It was a recommendation from another traveling artist. I love the height of the seat which is regulation height for a chair seat (but I still sit carefully!). The back rest is in the perfect location for back support - lower back, not up around your shoulder blades. The four legs give it more stability. This is my third try for a good travel stool. The first one was WAY too low. The second one by Coleman is pretty perfect...fair height, very packable (fits in all my gear), came with a case - but after an hour of painting my back is killing me. So why you might ask only four stars for the Roll-a-Chair. It is NOT packable and does not come with a case, so unless you are taking a gigantic suitcase, you have to sling this over your shoulder in addition to any backpack (might be able to attach it to the outside of some backpacks - haven’t tried that yet). It does have a strap for carrying over your shoulder. If you just want this to take to the beach or an outing it is perfect. Having said all that, I will still take this, even if it’s a struggle, because it is that comfortable and light weight (no problem with TSA) - I’ve taken it through several airports. It stays in my car for whenever I might need it. In most cases I prefer to stand when painting but in some situations it is more comfortable to sit and this is THE “it” chair. AND, I knew all this when I purchased it but took a chance (even had it delivered to where I was vacationing) and I am not sorry. (BTW in case anyone should ask, no it does not have wheels - no rolling despite the name).

I needed a lightweight chair that had to meet a lot of conditions. It had to be well made, compact, comfortable enough to sit for a few hours, and versatile. I was tired of carrying around those heavier chairs when attending the Jazzfest here in New Orleans. We move from stage to stage, not staying too long at one location. I'm not alone. I looked at what other people used, asking them about their chairs. Everyone who used this chair was very satisfied. I got to test it as well. The trade offs are this isn't a chair for long term sitting. It also doesnt open and close as easily as I would lie. But it's very sturdy, has 4 legs for better stability, doesn't cost a whole lot, and is easy to pack. I'm very satisfied.

Feather-light, easy to set-up and store; comfy, stable, and easy to carry. About the same size to carry as the other canvas folding chairs with 4 legs that fold and travel in a cylindrical bag - but MUCH lighter. Not for long-term sitting, but these make it easy to pack, carry, and walk. I play a flute, guitar, and hand-drum while sitting in one of these. A friend plays a small accordion in one of these. One drawback: the blue color is boring.

This is a very light, well made compact chair for easy carry anywhere. However, after using it at a recent event, I wouldn't want to sit in it for very long.

I love this Blue Chair! It's higher than most folding chairs. Light-weight and durable. Very comfortable, strong and sturdy with the 4 legs versus the 3 leg camping chairs. Hands down, this is the best I have folding chair I have used for outdoor activities.
