There are a few issues with this device:1. If you have quartz counter tops, you will need to wet the suction cup and press down on it in order to make sure it sticks. If you're dealing with a finicky raw sweet potato and apply too much pressure, it will pop off and the motion will propel you to somehow punch yourself in the face...not that this happened to me or anything....2. In order to cut sweet potatoes, you need to first peel the sweet potatoes. This is VERY important! Then, put them into a container with some water and heat for 5 minutes. Let cool and then you can proceed to cut.I was cursing this thing as I struggled with my unpeeled microwaved sweet potato. However, I will keep this and continue to work with it. It's still faster and cleaner than struggling with cutting a sweet potato into fry sized pieces.

This does exactly what you expect it to do! Just toss a potato into it and give a good, firm push and instantly you have perfectly shaoed potatoes for fries! Some reviewers weren’t happy with the suction cup that holds the unit to the countertop. It’s actually fine. Just be sure when pressing the lever on the suction cup to take your other hand and push the suction cup into the surface WHILE pressing the suction lever and you’ll be fine. Suction is perfect! Very easy to use and set up and clean. It comes with two different size blades. I wish it could make thinner fries (like McDonald’s.

After spending so much time in a commercial kitchen I needed some extra equipment at home. We like to enjoy home cut French fries. The price on this item was a bit cheap so I was indeed skeptical. After arrival which was very quick, I was eager to use. right out of the box it was easy to assemble, wash and use. Makes what used to take several minutes now takes several seconds and probably takes longer to clean up which takes just a few seconds with tooth brush I keep near the sink to clean the hard to reach places. Very good construction, quality tool for any kitchen!

No instructions came with the unit, although it's fairly intuitive. If you dampen the suction cup, it holds better to the counter top. Worst problem is that the extension handle doesn't fit on the main handle. I tried reaming it out but it's still too small. I'm not going to hassle with it and am just going to get a short piece of pipe from a hardware store. Good news, it did cut my french fries nicely once I quit messing with the handle.

Suction cup could be better. Overall a good buy. 40$ I ordered it Thursday night at 9pm and by Friday next morning it was delivered by 730 am! Super impressed by shipping. I made 20 potatoes into fresh cut fries in 5 minutes and w ease. Would buy again

Very sturdy. I use this to cut potatoes for French fries. Works well, only downside is the suction cup could be better. You have to press down really firmly to get it to stick! The longer handle is perfect and feels great in your hand.

We ordered this for slicing potatoes for fries using sweet potatoes it is hard to pull thru but my husband does it for me (I could not do it ) and it works great for us

Looked like a good product, but I purchased it for making sweet potato fries and in big letters in paper that was in the box were the words "NOT FOR CUTTING SWEET POTATOES". That little bit of info was not in the product description, but kudos for a painless return policy from Amazon.
