This thermostat is exactly what I've been looking for. Finally!Pros:- UI is like a smart phone, touchscreen. Simple and easy to use. Passcode lock access if desired to keep people from changing settings.- App available for remote access on iOS and Android, also web access.- Option for automatic heat/cool depending on desired temp. You can block the AC from turning on below specified temps.- Comfort Settings used in conjunction with the schedule you set. The schedule allots custom times for Home, Sleep, etc. The Comfort Settings allow you to change the blower fan cycle for Home, Sleep and Away. For example, set the Home Comfort setting to desired temp with the fan on Auto, set the Sleep Comfort setting to desired temp with the fan ON, and set the Away Comfort setting to desired temp and fan setting. When the schedule hits the Home time, the fan will run Auto along with the desired temp, then when Sleep time comes the fan will stay ON until the next scheduled period changes it. You can easily press Away to put it in away mode, which also has more customization options.- The fan can be full ON or Auto. Auto can be set to Auto, which will only run when your HVAC runs, or by any 5 minute increment per hour so you can have air circulate more often regardless of the HVAC.- Comes with remote temperature/occupancy sensors which can be placed and configured to your needs, for the most part at least.- The remote sensors use C3202 batteries! Very cheap to replace and last up to 4 years. No need for AA or AAA batteries.- Visually appealing and also has many other settingsCons:- None now

I replaced my Honeywell 9580 WIFI thermostat with this unit today. It took ~20 minutes to mount the thermostat and three sensors.I love how this sits against the wall. The 9580 was an upgrade over a standard thermo. and seemed nice with the background colors/themes and WIFI integration. I mounted this with the round plate since it makes a smoother transition from the wall to the front screen of the device, looks nice.... twice as nice as the 9580 IMO.Snapped the thermo. onto the backing plate and followed the prompts, 5 minutes later...perfection.All three sensors paired instantly to the device after pulling the battery "plastic blocker" out. One in the master bed., one in the living room and one in the center of the finished basement. All three sensors were reading and accurate to a laser therm. for their locations.Online webpage and app. work great, seems too easy to operate. I also like how it wakes when you walk/stand in front of the thermostat briefly.Only con so far?..........I spent the last 2 hours standing in front of it to stare at it and watch it do it's thing.

I love my ecobee3! I tried the Honeywell Lyric and the Nest learning thermostats, but I returned them both. My wife and kids felt I was crazy for trying so many thermostats after living in the house for 13 years. The Lyric geofencing technology works great and the Nest look and felt like I purchased a piece of nice sculpture for my wall. Simply put they did not solve my problem. I have a vey large house with two zeros. Some of my kids bedrooms are very hot, while others are very cool. My master room is comfortable , but sometimes the heat stays on too long and have to manually turnoff the thermostat. The Ecobee3 thermostat solved my problem with their remote sensors. After installing the sensors and monitoring each bathrooms for few days, I was able to accurately adjust the vents per bedroom to allow the correct amount of heat in each bedroom. Now! Everyone is comfortable with 72 during day in each bedroom and 70 at night in each bedroom. No more complaining from the kids and no more getting up in the middle of the night to turn-down the temperature. I am very happy! In addition I love the Home IQ report that allow me to see my usage for several months. I love the the AWAY graphics which makes it easy for me to see my saving when no one is home. With the other companies Thermostats I tried I was never sure if they were going into AWAY mode when I was not at home. My only complaint with the EcoBee3, they should use less plastic and more metal in there future construction, but the Ecobee3 function and technology and make up for that. I love the Ecobee3. I am planning to purchase a second Ecobee3 for my downstairs.
