Salem Baking Cheese Straw Clssc Chdr (Pack of 6)

I have tried to find a cheese straw with a pronounced extra sharp cheddar flavour and with a crumbly but firm texture. Except for the ones I make these are it! Salem Baking is not shy about being bold with their cheddar cheese. Most cheese straws a wimpy tasting..... whoever came up with the recipe had a southern Grandma that knew authentic American South flavour!! It must have been passed on!

Purchased for snacks for friends.

These cheese straws were included in a gift basket and we loved them so much that we've ordered .... twice!

Have the other reviewers never had cheese straws before? These barely taste of cheese. Now, when I think of cheese straws, I think flavor city. I'm thinking to myself, "Self, you're about to break all of your diet rules and you're going to be happy about it. You're going to nom on your favorite things: butter and cheese." And since I'm about to nom on some butter and cheese, I better bust out some wine. Cheddar straws are basically a vehicle to facilitate wine drinking, but that's not important right now.I want to taste cheese. I want to feel like I'm eating something naughty. FLAVOR CITY. I'm thinking shortbread, but you know: CHEESY.I know cheddar straws. And you, Salem Baking Petite Cheese Straws, are no cheddar straws. Mostly because of that spelling. And also because there is very little cheese flavor. This box made me sad. Also, I'm going to say cheese and cheddar four more times: cheese and cheddar, cheese and cheddar, cheese and cheddar, cheese and cheddar,. BY THE WAY, that means there is more cheddar cheese in this review than in this product.

I bought these a couple years ago and they were really good, but I only gave 4 stars because I cannot and will not pay such a high amount of $$ for 27 ounces of these. $24. for 6-- 4.5 ounce boxes and over $12. To ship is horrible. $36.+ is way overboard for something so simple and small. But I will say the product is really good!

great cheese taste with a bit of a bite- wonderful with Riesling- and healthy as well- not all those nasty additives

Every time that we run out of these cheese straws, we order more. They are so good!!!
