Buddha Bar : The Box

An unmissable jewel for die-hard Buddha Bar fans! Released only as a limited 1500-unit edition, this is a great opportunity to own a one-of-a-kind box set filled with blissful music ranging from the chillout, to downtempo, lounge, house and world music influences.Soundwise it is what you would expect from Buddha Bar, but it also gives additional room for traks that otherwise would not make it into the standard double-album installments. I feel the sound-spectrum is a bit wider yet still consistent with the Buddha Bar sound proposal.Coming in a beautiful package and an additional USB-Key with DJ Ravin's individual-track selections, this is a definitive must have for Buddha Bar fans and blissful-music lovers alike.

I have most of the Buddha bar CDs and delayed in buying this set as £70 is an awful lot, however as you get 12 CDs it is good value for money.There are a few tracks from other BB albums but mostly new material.

Great package and well worth buying....

Following the long tradition of enigmatic and fantastic high standard Buddha Bar compilation, which are usually hotly anticipated, comes a massive box set of 12 CDs compilation - first 6 CDs comprise of amazing chill out / lounge selection, typical of your disc 1 on a typical BB series; and disc 6-12 more dance oriented, closer towards styles of BB disc 2, though the beats are not as hard and fast as some in the series. Most songs are very recent (copyright mostly 2010/11, with few rare tracks going back 2004, 05, 06)As with Ravin's previous compilations, many were breath taking, some were bordering on elevator music, and a few gorgeous dance beat thrown in. But as a whole a very tasteful and stylish chill out/ lounge selection.Depending on how big a Ravin fan/ chill out fan you are, some tracks are likely to be familiar. With many tracks taken from Buddhattitude series, and some other familiar names: Cantoma, Travel Impressions, Buddha Sounds, conjures up an impressive yet occasionally familiar sounding mix. Songs were beautifully mixed and transitions from songs to songs on the CDs were seamless and accomplished, with Ravin's style and mark all over them.Song selections on the USB was a beautiful selection, unfortunately it was horridly disorganized, with strange names and missing data on track names etc. 4 tracks were 320kbps while the other 9 were 192kbps. It had the appearance of a bootleg files downloaded from some pirate site.In terms of price, although there was a significant increase since its pre-order price it is still value for money, especially if you consider the possibility if the label had released these 12 CDs as 6 different BB collection.The packaging with a running serial number naturally makes it a collector's item, in a lovely colour of lapis lazuli with signature gold logo and name of Buddha-Bar, and a fold out of all 12 CDs. Very neat.A must for all BB fan, especially IF they do keep to the limited edition promise.
