A book to read many times over.
This is a book about the philosophy behind Esik Melland's viking ninja program. I bought this because of how engaged I have become with the steel mace. Many might assume this book is a guide for the steel mace and expect step-by-step instructions and or cues--if that is what you are searching for, the viking ninja website or esik's instagram account has tons to offer in this area. But don't assume that this book won't teach you about the mace. For me, it offers more; an enhanced mindset, precise focus, and a deeper appreciation for the mace. My love for the mace was already quite strong but this book has shifted my perspective to engage much more in body weight training. Personally this is a perfect book to start right when the world starts going through the major setback(s) of covid-19. While my benefits from reading this book may not be yours, read it from cover to cover and you as well will find many lessons and chapters of substance that will benefit you on your fitness journey and in your life.A book to read many times over and, of course, share with others!GET IT.

pretty good stuff
I’ve read a lot of eastern philosophy and I like how this fits into the mix, especially with the bent toward fitness.

Viking Ninja Elements = Optimized Life
This book is a must-read for anyone interested in the Viking Ninja methods of training or anyone who wants to optimize their lifestyle in general. The philosophy that is presented is just great advice for anyone who wants to unleash their warrior spirit and live their best life. No other fitness method has deep-rooted philosophy such as this. It is uncommon for most fitness plans to give a rationale for why you are being asked to do what it is that your doing or what your mindset should be during your workouts. There is a purpose for everything that is done with Viking Ninja and that purpose is what you need to become the best version of yourself.

Fantastic
I got this book on a whim, and was surprised with how much it inspired me. I've grown to absolutely love working with the steel mace, as there are so many variations on what it can be used for. Mobility, strength, range of motion, isometrics or combined with yoga.I thank the authors for explaining what their approach is and why

It was alright
I would have preferred more concrete fitness advice, but was still fascinating to read.

Very, very little about steep mace
If your buying this book to learn about viking ninja is and thier philosophy you may like it. To me to was not very intresting at all.If you are buying this book to learn about the steel mace and training with it this book is terrible. If this is you dont buy it!

You too can be a Viking Ninja
North meets East meets West philosophy on mind set through body movements, to become the best you can be. Always do your best even when you are fatigued, it's AlL or NOTHING. Only you can be the commander of your destiny in fitness, expand and learn all your brain can absorb only helps you become the best version of yourself. Not new information, but worth reading, checking in with yourself daily. Enjoyable read ! Thank you Viking Ninja

Exceed your limitations
This book gives a peek into the mind of Erik Melland and a deeper understanding behind the curtain of the Viking Ninja training system. So often these days, people chase their next workout, often taking advice from numerous people they haven’t been coached by, don’t know, or have never met. If you’re looking for a wicked steel mace program or training manual, you will not find it within these pages. You will find that Viking Ninja is more than a catchy marketing term to Erik. Drawing on history and symbolism, he reveals opposing and complementary lessons that fuse the concept together into the Viking Ninja way. In this sense, it’s not about a workout. It’s about you. It’s about finding your warrior spirit. It’s about what you can bring to your workouts, your life, and the people around you. You are the constant - the reason for success and failure. Just maybe within these pages, you will find a path forward and commit to exceeding your limitations.

The Philosophy Behind Viking Ninja Training - Excellent Read!
I train in the Viking Ninja system and this book gave me a renewed appreciation for this smart unconventional fitness method. Erik "Esik" Melland offers an excellent philosophical read, rich with symbolism and metaphors that makes you dig deeper into his unique brand of training. It engages your Warrior Spirit to push you beyond your perceived limits – it’s about becoming stronger in life.Esik’s concept of “dense immortality” deeply resonated with me – the pursuit of a “life rich with experience, so saturated with fascination and novelty that every day is a gem worth holding onto”….and so what we seek is: “the physical strength, spiritual vitality and mental rigor to fuel that sort of life.” That is exactly what VKNJA training does for me.And personally, I love the martial arts element where the body, mind and spirit are integrated in the most mindful and creative way – it centers me. If any of this peaks your curiosity, then you should read this book!

Erik melland is a legend
This is truly a great book , mace workouts are really a great way to exercise and give u a wonderful outlet for stress relief! Follow this process and become a better human !!! 5 stars all day
