Not Just for Exercise/Play Areas
While temporarily living in a friend’s guest house last year, I bought some mats similar to these for floor exercising. I soon discovered that they solved a problem I was having with my cat sharpening her claws on my friend's wool rug. She lost interest in the rug as soon as I placed the mats which became her new workout area. When I moved into my own house this fall, I bought an expensive 9' x 13' rug which she, unfortunately, discovered. I knew foam mats were the solution; but since the rug is in my formal dining room, the mats I already had...bright squares of blue, red, green and yellow... would clash and scream, "Notice me!"Luckily, I got these beige mats which blend in and make it possible for me to still enjoy the rug. I've found that even with this much larger rug, four mats are enough because the cat really finds the mats more satisfying than a rug. The other good news is that the mats are holding up quite well, despite much use this past month. Yes, there are small holes and minor tears but no giblets of debris. And, luckily, I have two mats in reserve for when the most used eventually bite the dust.I do realize that most people reading reviews for foam mats aren't here to deal with clawing problems, but if anyone who happens to read these reviews has that problem, these comments will have served a worthwhile purpose.Plus, there are certainly other reasons why someone would want beige mats, which are not so easy to find. Almost all of what I found are multi-colored (geared for kids' play areas) or gray or black (geared for home gyms). As for that color, on my iPad the color is a medium beige with pink undertones. On my computer, the color look more like off white. In person, the color is a light, creamier beige. As for quality, they are obviously durable with a little spring to the 3/8" foam when walked on. If you intend to use them for a floor-exercising area, I would recommend them for a surface that already has a little give (like a Berber carpet). If your area is a solid surface like hardwoods or tile/linoleum, I'd recommend paying more for a heavy duty pad (3/4"-1" thick) to get real comfort.

bad
This is not the same as the picture they gave. There is a piece of splicing that is rectangular, and they don't match the ones I bought elsewhere, even though they are the same size, and moreover, they do not match themselves.
