Williamsburg Sun-Thickened Linseed Oil 2 oz

This is the authentic sun-thickened oil that is actually made the way it was done hundreds of years ago by exposing quality linseed oil to daily sunlight while still allowing aeration of the oil. It's possible to make your own; but quite frankly, it takes a good bit of time to reach the thick level of viscosity that is preferred. (And a long darn time during those northern winter months.)It increases the flow of your oil paints while enhancing the transparency and gloss. Mixed with your paint, it allows you to create very fine, delicate layers. I also use it to create my own painting medium by adding copal resin varnish and turpentine to the sun-thickened oil. It also tends to speed up the drying of all paint and mediums with which it is used.
