Tachikara Full Grain Leather Volleyball

I bought this ball last year because I was being taught how to play doubles on a sand court. So I bought this ball to practice after reading some reviews and my friend recommended that I get a leather ball because I planned on striking it against the outside brick wall of the middle school I live behind. I pump it to 5 psi which is a little harder than what others play with. It's now dirty but it has held together well. I had recently spent 90 minutes of practicing my serve against the brick wall and nothing has changed with the construction of the ball. It is still just the same as when I got it but is now a dirt covered white. And I can't see how it is smaller than the AVP Wilson balls I play with so I wonder about the comments about the size of this ball compared to regulation balls, especially when the cover has OFFICIAL and REGULATION SIZE & WEIGHT stamped on it. If it does fall apart, I'd get another one.

My daughter loves to play volleyball in the driveway and I kept buying cheaper ones that would get all nicked up right away. This ball has been great so far. No nicks or scrapes from the driveway and much more pleasurable to hit given so soft.

Volleyball is great quality, soft indoor volleyball! It was just what I was looking for!

For $25 I did not expect a professional looking Tachikara volleyball. you can see what looks like seams on a few of the panels. I am not concerned with the looks though. I just needed a ball that would withstand "barn-ball" players that rent our gym. I think it will do very well. I will update my review in a month or two. and buy more if it holds up.

I would never buy any other brand due to the fact this is a leather ball not that plastic which is often used. Have been using this brand for over 25 years.

Recieved the ball, already inflated to the correct pressure which was nice. The ball is quite slick and stiff when you get it. Took about a game for the slickness to wear off. I actuall prefer the stiffness of the leather tachikaras. Soft touch volleyballs should be outlawed. Tons of movement on float serves, the ridges where the seams are are great for setting, and it being so stiff it flys off of your hand when spiking.

This volleyball is maybe the best value out there. Ok, it's not as good as the gold tachikara (which feels feather light, soft, and is super responsive), but this ball is close enough to justify not spending the extra $. Any other ball in this price range will hurt you with it's synthetic or low quality leather. No red arms from this ball.Buy this ball for open gym, or practices. Save your expensive ball for games only.

Bought this 10 months ago - was told it would soften up the more I use it. I play twice a week. It's still very hard and my teammates complain and don't want to use it. They think I got a fake Tachikara. I'm stubborn and will probably stick with it for another 6 months, but if I had the chance to redo my purchase, I'd probably go with a Molten or soft-tec.
