Love it! Although the build quality is quite poor being constructed of thin, creaky plastic, the aesthetics and effect of the front (the flames) more than makes up for this and we can expect too much for £12! Infact, at that price point, this is an absolute bargain. The fireplace effect is great and it really does create a relaxing ambience. I have mine on top of my piano and it looks fantastic. Takes 4 x C batteries (I bought a 10 pack of Duracell Industrial here on Amazon) and it's still holding up well 3 days in, after being powered up for 9 hours each night. It would have been great to have the power button at the back of the unit rather than the bottom so that you don't have to pick the unit up to switch it on or off. Better still, this would have been good to have a remote control option for a few pounds more. This would allow you to place the unit on high or awkward places. Just get one!

Does the job and fits inside my log burner to provide lighting effect without burning logs. Do not know how long the batteries will last but will find out in the winter when I use it. Plastic case is a bit crude but unit is cheap.

Great item lovely light effect, devours batteries so I have purchased from Amazon a 4.5v power supply unit and converted the lantern to mains. The Amazon write up for the unit states complete with timer, There is a switch under the lantern with two symbols on/timer but the suppliers comments on controls only states ON/Off switch. Whichever position you place the switch toggle in there is no timer.

We bought 5 of these they looked lovely and with the fire glow made feel cosy but batteries only last a day and one of them didn't move for the flame totally a waste of money would never buy again they are just battery eaters

Lovely fireplace display, realistic smoke effect. But I have only given 3 stars as when this item arrived and I took it out of the box the coal effect panel had fallen off of the main part of the fire. I was able to hot glue it back myself. Originally I ordered one unit with a view to ordering another at a later date but have now changed my mind due to the damage.

Worked fine. Then flame effect stopped working! Replaced batteries, but alas no flame effect! Shame as it's a sweet little lantern. UPDATE!! the flame effect, suddenly started working!! 🤔😊

I have an old Victorian fireplace that is never used and every Christmas in fill it with coal and add orange lights, I saw this an thought id give it a try! wow what a fantastic idea it looks absolutely lovely in the fire with coal around it.love it love it love it.

Loved this Item when first purchased! It looked great in my empty fire place! but after a month or so the flickering flame effect stopped working wich is rather disappointing 👎

Crea davvero quell atmosfera dolce del camino, tutti mi chiedono se scotta😬lo consiglio io L ho messo in un finto camino è piccolino ma molto grazioso mi rilassa tanto ! Consiglio L acquisto!

Parfait pour une ambiance plus chaude, pour noël elle sera en dessou du sapin; fonctionne avec 3 piles de type C.

Brilliant little fire. Although it said with timer when I bought it but had no timer at all. But really good flame effect.

Efecto muy bueno de chimenea. Llegó muy rápido, lo único malo es que en el cristal interior viene con una marchita y al ser tan pequeña la lamparita la vista se va a ella pero este es un buen invento y muy real. Lo recomiendo.
