Utterly terrible. This book features Japanese sentences with phrasing that even Japanese people cannot explain, poorly worded English translations, and examples and exercises that barely relate to the grammar point being "taught". This is absolutely the worst text book I have ever attempted to use whilst learning Japanese. Save your money.

I’ve been getting through this book very happily for the past couple of months and it’s helped markedly, however ... of course since there is no physical CD since it’s a kindle product, I would have thought there would be audio within the kindle file? Nah, I had to either sign up for audiobook Japan, or go through a series of linked websites because the download link no longer works. Kind of a pain but I got it sorted eventually.

As a study aid, this book worked well for me. I could review what I had already learned in a nice summary. For things I hadn’t learned, using this book was trickier. It doesn’t explain in much detail at all.

Almost all of the explanations and examples offer no clarity or context. Most examples provide no translation.
