Stone River Gear Ceramic Hunting Knife

it's sharp and well made, but just a little too small for my very average sized hands. lore the fault of knifeveesigner than knife maker I guess, and mine for not realizing just how small this knife is. sheath won't retain the blade either.

The knife itself is a real beauty. Probably the sharpest knife I own, I'm suprized I haven't cut myself yet. The sheath seems like an after though, it is a disappointment. If they would've included a sheath like the neck knives have, I would have rated this purchase at 5 stars.

Comes more than razor sharp, not sure what the review(s) saying otherwise are taking about, but quality control only goes so far I guess. Anyway, I love this little knife, and don't be fooled, it's very small. The sheath works, isn't a great fit, but it works and is nice and small. It's a very thin blade and handle, great for small hands, not so much so for larger hands.Buyer beware, this is a ceramic knife. It's intended purpose is for cutting, not chopping. You can't chop wood, bone, etc. Don't expect it to. I read someone tried using it to cut a branch, that was stupid, not the fault of the knife, but the used. There's literature all over the internet on what ceramic knives are capable of and not. There's also literature in the nice presentation box that this knife comes in which also clearly states that this knife will excell at cutting food, but NOT frozen food. Seems like a "duh" kind of thing, but you'd be surprised at people stupidity.Excellent for food prep, cutting rope and boxes and the like. Do yourself a favor and get one, you won't be dissatisfied. Though I would recommend not paying the exorbitant price of this one with the antler handles, save yourself some money and get the Paracord wrapped version.

knife completely disintegrated when I tried to cut a soft branch. I guess I learned my lesson about a ceramic knife. Probably only good for cutting tomatoes and cucumbers but why make one with stag handle to make it appear like it could work in the outdoors is now beyond my comprehension.

As a small time knife collector, I wanted to add a couple of ceramic pieces to my collection. I added this fixed blade on a lark and find myself quite pleased with this knife. It is well made, quite light and looks good.I do have two small quibbles which do not detract from the knife: the provided sheath, a 'formed nylon' sheath, is clunky and I would prefer a fitted leather sheath; the paracord lanyard is 'nice' but, for me, gets in the way when carried on the belt. Fortunately, the lanyard is easily removable and I can make a suitable sheath for the knife.Stone River makes a line of knives and I would recommend checking out their site for something that would pique your interest.

Great Christmas gift for my husband, he loved it! Beautiful handle and arrived in a nice box. It arrived on time, and I was glad it was in a box that he couldn't tell what it was!!
