MDP 1008 Maxmade Portable DVD Player

When I put the DVD in the drive, I was immediately put off by the noise of the player spinning the disc. However I could have lived with the noise had the player actually worked. It would load, and start to play the disc, and then immediately freeze. This was new, right out of the box and charged. Sent it back.

The only way to control the volume on this DVD player, is via the remote.Considering the number of buttons and controls on the actual unit, you would think that they would have found a way to include a volume control. The player is for my two year old daughter, so we rarely use the remote. Also, I question the durability if dropped or handled roughly. Not that I expect a portable DVD player to be a tank, but we have used others that could handle being knocked around. Probably not the case with this player.After 10 minutes of use, the player itself seems to have good functionality, has good menu options, and does what it's supposed to do. Considering the screen size, it's not a bad buy. That said, I wouldn't recommend it for small kids. For my needs, the durability concerns, and lack of volume control on the unit are deal breakers. I will be sending it back.

I liked using this product for the car when I am playing it for my nieces and nephews. The screen being able to flip makes the device easier to enjoy. The built in rechargeable batteries are found in no other product.It also was light weight and comes in a travel case.This system came with a travel bag and that is perfect for carrying a portable device around.Also in the box it came with a car charger and a wall charger as well.This portable DVD player is outstanding. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with children.

The item didn't work and I needed it for a specific ocassion and an upcoming date so I didn't have time to request a replacement vs a refund.

It works as intended with the downsides being that the exterior is made with cheap plastic and there is no volume slider on the device itself, which can only be changed using the included remote control. So you get what you pay for is what I would sum up about this portable DVD player.

A previous reviewer posted there is no volume control on the unit itself, only the remote. Wrong! Instruction manual shows what buttons to use for volume control on unit. Works perfectly. Beautiful DVD player, crystal clear picture, good sound, many extras. Love it!!!!!PS, just found out there is a "last memory" feature you can turn on under setup!
