Have heard of this story for years, finally read it!
Enjoyed the book very much. We are followers of the Baha'i Faith as was the author, but after reading it, purchased a copy for a friend who has only a mild interest in the Faith. It is a mostly fun, easy read, with absolutely nothing coercive or preach-y, we felt comfortable to share with our friend, and would recommend it to anyone with the mildest interest as well as someone looking for a "folksy" story, or someone interested in the life of William Sears, who was a successful broadcast journalist.

A joy, inspiration and a prescription for how to live and love.
Beautiful memoir - hilarious and touching stories that tell of personal journey. Get ready to fall in love with the beautiful characters that line this epic story. Each time I read this book, I remember why I canβt put it down.

Delightful commuting of age story.
I loved the relationship with Grandpa...we should all be this fortunate. I was also inspired by the love story. With Magritte. Too often spiritual journeys are not supported by our partners. It just proves that if we listen and trust God guides us where we need to go.

Excellent!
This is a very enjoyable and humorous story of a man who is led to the Baha'i Faith. By the middle of the book, it is hard to put the book down. There is an element of mystery and the power of faith that make this book memorable. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to learn more about the Baha'i Faith or anyone searching for evidence of the power of faith and belief.

Hilarious autobiography!
The first (and funniest) book I ever read by this author. Hilarious autobiography (how did this mischievous kid live to grow up?). I particularly liked the part about ice skating in the kitchen..... and convincing his sister he was God.....or the time his sister was almost burned at the stake (oops!). The marriage proposal was unique, too -- as was the courtship. Highly recommended. I've had to buy extra copies because I keep loaning it to friends and it doesn't always come back.

A rewarding read!
"God Loves Laughter" is, all at the same time, delightfully humorous and spiritually profound! It is not one of William Sears most thought provoking books, eg, "The Wine of Astonishment," or "Thief in the Night," but it a book deserving a a place on the shelf where the reader is able to reach in easily in order to read and re-read timeless passages. From beginning to end, it is a book easily read in one fascinating sitting!

A Happy Friend
I bought this book for a friend and she was delighted. She had lent her own copy to someone, forgot who it was, and had never had it back, so she was very pleased.

i have been looking for this book for years . because I didn't know the author, bookstores that I asked in, knew the book, but didn't know the author, and it was waterstones ,who finally pointed me in the right direction. So, thank you both.

A joy to read...so funny!
Although Sears was a practicing Baha'i, the book mentions little about it. His values, as described in the book, say it all.
