A great and entertaining book !
I read this book to 4 year olds mostly and I had seen it read to other same age groups, where I first discovered it. I couldn't find it in Australia and Amazon came through for me.It can be too scary for 3 year olds and under. It is funny and well illustrated - sometimes that is all that is required.Highly recommended !!

Bring on the grandkids!
This Lift-The-Flaps book was an absolute favorite for my kids when they were barely readers and "just new" readers. My middle daughter stole our worn copy to use at the pre-school where she works. I found a newer copy for her and one more for us.

Awesome!
This is a great story. This is the second year we have used this book in our preschool classroom and the children love it! Last year we used a copy of this book from a fellow teacher and this year we had to have our own copy. Would be great to use at home with little ones as well.

Fun Book!
This book is so hard to find in hard back! As a preschool teacher, I read a lot of good literature to my classes. This is an awesome book, but you need to have it in hardback to use the full effect of this book's surprise ending.

It's a fun read, and the story is easy to read over and over again.
My daughter absolutely loves this book. It's fun and the opening of the doors and windows to see the monster keep her attention. It's an easy book to read over and over again.

Thoroughly enjoyable
When my daughter was young I remember getting this from the library to read to her and I ended up reborrowing it for several months as she absolutely loved it.I suppose I should have bought it then but she loved trips to the library, picking different books every week, which didn’t gather dust when she got bored of them and saved me loads of money. So when my daughter had my first grandchild this was one of the first books I bought, he’s too young to understand it yet but it brought back loads of memories and the easy story with the interaction of lifting the flaps will soon become a favourite I’m sure.Just wish I’d purchased the hard back as I can see this getting dog eared after a few weeks as the pages aren’t very thick.Imagine looking at what’s going on in a giants castle, quickly turning the pages to make sure you don’t get seen and lifting a flap to check no one has noticed you, don’t wake the giant!Hope you found my review helpful

2 year old loves it!
Two year old child absolutely adores this book. The story has few words, which is nice to focus on the key parts with little ones. Child loves checking to see if the cat and hen are still asleep and shouting “Boo!” at the appropriate moment. Lots of fun to be had.**Only downside: the flaps are quite flimsy, as they are cut into the pages for most, rather than being stuck on. One flap ripped on the first read through, so we have sellotaped along the fold lines for all flaps now, which has solved the problem.

Great suspense
This book is excellent! It takes the readers on an adventure through a giant’s castle. It has flaps and peep holes with extremely clever illustrations. Suspension builds through the story as you try not to wake the giant’s pets or get noticed by his wife, leading to a scary squeal tactic ending! A very interactive book. It’s a perfect read aloud too! It’s also great to read to a class or large group of children. One of our all time favourites and lots of fun,

Good book
Bought this for my 5 year old daughter and she can read it herself, it’s a book they enjoy, they don’t ask for it very often, not like chocolate cake by Micheal Rosen which they want every night!
