About a Town of Love and Family
I can't recommend this movie enough. In my opinion, this is one of the late Peter O'Toole's best performances. This movie is so heart warming is shows that when we all feel as though we have nothing we can still have the world. It just takes Love, the only true thing.

Not real bad, better Christmas Story Line than others have
Much of these Christmas theme movies is Cinderella stuff, or boy gets girl which is getting old. I do wish they would invent something new... <<--had to say it!But this Kinkade movie has a lot going on. This is better than some I have seen and it's kind of on the good side because I have always loved this artist work. But the movie is lame too and to me looked dark in a little bit of the content.I don't know why his work didn't seem to have the hoopla that others had. He got charged with fraud allegations, his company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and if I read right he wasn't sick he was a boozer. But Kinkade was supposed to have made 50 million plus in his lifetime. Who makes 50+ million and looses it? So I don't get it. Maybe there is something no one told the public? The lawsuits maybe? Maybe because he made prints to sell to the public instead of canvas work? The story line centered around Kinkade and everyone said the movie wasn't factual. I agree and I thought the movie was off so I did some read up online. i was right.I guess it was nice this movie was trying to save a town. It has the drama. That was okay with me. but I give it a -1 star meh too because of the inaccuracies because It was supposed to be on Kinkade. Or that was my impression. His name was on the movie.So... I will just say, "I don't think this movie is the real story of Kinkade." I think the whole story line was made up. So I would center my attention around the Characters as a whole instead of just on Kinkade. and that is why I gave it four stars because it was still okay..There is nothing here for kids to see either. I don't think you are going to get a kid to sit through this. It has a PG rating on DVD but they do have a TV version but I don't believe you can get a kid to sit and watch it on TV or DVD. Just the parents.

Cute Film (Heavy Religious Tones)
(SPOILERS)I am not interested in religions at all so the whole church/religious community aspects...rubbed me the wrong way. However, I did not know that was in the film, I bought it on a whim because I like some of the actors. It is based on a true story about a young artist Thomas, goes to his small town of Placervillie to paint a mural for x-mas. Along the way we find out his mother is going to lose her home (his childhood home) because she's too giving AND has lost her job. So the gist of the story is about a community coming together to help each other out and love in general. But yeah, I didn't like the whole religous aspect of the film (because I believe you can have love and hope without faith/religon) but hey, if that's your thing, go for it. It was a segmented film in which you'd be looking at one part of the story, go to another, go back to the first part, jump over here. It was important for the story telling because it focused on the community of Placervillie itself. They showed a variety of side characters, giving glimpses into their heart ache and joy. Simple, it is an alright Christmas film. Now it is a cute film. It was created by a company that wants to create only family friendly (with messages) entertainment and I believe they did suceed in the fact that there is no vulgarity/sexuality/etc. like they intended. So yes, good film to sit the youngest ones down with. But if you prefer more action, more laughs, more in general than this watered down type of movie, skip it.
