EDIT: Seller shipped replacement free of charge. Replacement works to drive 30" cinema display! Replacement does NOT work to drive 4k monitor through MiniDisplay port. At least the product I got is functional now. 5-Stars to the seller for replacing the defective item.What makes me angry about this situation is that I specifically asked the seller if this would work on my setup and he specifically answered that "Yes it would". This adapter does not work, and his description is copy and pasted form other sellers.Let us count the ways it did not work, and then you can decide if you want to waste your money on it. I tried two different computer, with two different display formats, and every combination thereof.(1) Did not work on 30" Apple Cinema Display M9179LL/A through dual-link DVI to minidisplay port adapter +USB power.(2) Did not work on 28" 4k monitor Display with dedicated display port.(3) Did not work using a 2017 15" MacBook pro with Touchbar.(4) Did not work using a 2020 13" MacBook Pro with Touchbar.(5) Did not work as a door stop, when jammed into the hinge of my basement door.If you are going to buy one of these adapters, then get the $8.00 version sold by different sellers and save 33% of the cost. The fit, finish, and packaging were all very nice however. +1 star for a clean design, who cares about functionality!

I have a 2019 MacBook Pro with a USB-C port and wanted to attach an (2010?) Apple LED Cinema 24" monitor with a mini port cable. I was concerned because when I connected my monitor to the adapter and plugged it into my laptop, the computer did not recognize the monitor. I unplugged it and replugged it and nothing. I was ready to return it when I read someone on here said to restart the computer, which I did and it worked. It stayed connected except when I shut the computer down, then upon restart, the monitor wasn't recognized. It took me a long time to finally connect to the monitor, I had to "jiggle" the wire and unplug/replug it in countless times. Finally after a few days having to do this I'm returning it. I'm planning on getting a replacement and hopefully the new one won't be a problem. However, if it happens again I'll return it for a refund.

This review has been updated after great customer service from Feovino! They reached out to me and sent me a new adapter, without requiring me to go through the hassle of shipping back the bad one. I've been using the new unit for a few weeks without issue. This one seems to fit better in my laptop's USB port and I haven't had any signal drops. I really appreciate their efforts to make things right!Earlier review:The converter worked fine for a few weeks, but then started dropping the signal to my monitor. It was fixable, for a while, by re-seating the the USB plug or bending the cable slightly so that it was more snug in the port. I've tried it on a few of my Macbook Pro's USB ports and it still has the problem, so I'm pretty sure it's not a problem with my Macbook.

There was a little confusion with this cable format. This is a USB-C to Thunderbolt 2, or Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2. It absolutely is NOT a USB-C to Mini DP. Only Apple sells the USB-C to Mini DP and it costs like $40. While Mini DP and Thunderbolt 2 look exactly alike, they are not interchangeable. I did however keep this cable because I had a friend that needed.

Works perfectly for Oculus Rift S for laptops

I purchased this so I could use a 2018 Mac mini and a2018 MacBook Pro with my old Apple Cinema Display. It arrived, I took it out of the package, I plugged it in, and it worked. No special programs or drivers, just plug and play. Sound, Camera, and video all worked. You still have to plug the USB cable from the Display to the computer if you want to use the USB ports on the back of the display.

This didn't work in the way I'd hoped - to use in a dongle chain to transfer mini-DV video to my USB-C laptop. I didn't return it because it very well be the very adapter I need for some other purpose.

I bought this item by accident, cause I forgot to remove this item from my cart, I didn’t mean to buy it cause I only saw one review, it is kinda unsafe, but after I received it, used it’ it totally changed my mind. This USB C adapter used a modern, sliver design, which is very beautiful and carryable, and it fits my Mac very well，and also the function works fine.
