Elves [DVD]

Normally I enjoy Indie films. But this movie is just terrible on so many levels. There is no script, or if there is it was written by 20 people who did not talk to each other. The actors need some training and experience, the characters came off as extremely wooden or terribly over the top (minus 1 who legit tried it seemed). The movie is not engaging at all, and that is usually one of the things of "B" horror flicks that make them watchable. The writer and director attempt to bring their audience in. This movie almost makes me want to believe that it was one of those intentionally bad movies (i.e. Sharknado, Clownado, etc.), but it doesn't even do that well. There is a joke super early in the movie referencing 2 others, and then nothing. This only gets 2 stars (really should be 1 probably), because I did laugh during it. It was just so terrible that I had to laugh. If you can see this on Prime for free and have absolutely nothing better to do, like licking week old coffee stains off the floor, then watch it. DO NOT PAY TO WATCH THIS FLAMING HEAP OF TERRIBLENESS.

This movie is on part with the room in terms of terribleness with stupid nonsense rules and bad acting. yet somehow endearing I 100% recommend this to anyone who loves bad movies that are unintentionally bad.

This movie was such a let down!There were a few moments when the camera work was great but...I saw some good direction at times but...The story itself in the right hands would work but...I can't give any kudos for makeup and wardrobe but there aren't any!Casting had to be nursing a great nepotism hangover except for one actor who knew what they were doing.Director was insightful at times but was inconsistent and seemed detached from the actors as if he wanted them wooden and emotionless, which they were so he got the single star from this review. Ignore that I had to give that star in order to come to the next point of this review....The acting was worse than a high school, junior year play! Sorry people, if the director told you to act like you were the wooden dolls throughout the entire move then I will come back and give this bomb five stars because you pulled it off!! There was no emotion to go with the words you uttered as if reading the script for the first time. I have seen people getting a parking ticket show more emotion!By the way, if you are told to look around, don't look at the ceiling first unless the scrip is about things from the sky are about to attack! Look side to side, chest height and don't slowly look behind you unless you are trying NOT to scare away Big Foot. Also, if you are scared you are supposed to breathe faster, not like you are sleeping. Look to the moment you asked the mate of your dreams to take your cherry and they said yes! That type of breathing is what happens when you shoot your best friend. THEN you panic and run.Never mind the rest. Fun movie. Total fan of the horror genre this film lives up to its stars

I thought I'd be watching a movie with killer elves, because hey, that's what the cover art and description led me to believe. Instead, I got treated to a ridiculous plot involving biblical elves possessing people with Snapchat filter. The acting was kinda entertaining, especially the long sequence where the girl nervously swallowed and licked her lips about 15 times before being beaten by a small artificial Christmas tree. Great acting there! I wouldn't recommend, except for bad movie night.

God awful rip-off of Blumhouse's Truth or Dare with a dash of It Follows (something they literally announce during the movie). Just lazy in all regards. One or two decent actors, but the rest didn't stand a chance with this script. I just wish I could get my hour and twenty minutes back!

I only rented this movie because my son really wanted to watch it, do not waste your time or money watching this. Kind of similar to truth or dare movie, but not nearly as good. This movie left me with so many unanswered questions.
