From Booklist Cursed to haunt his castle with his men for all eternity, Tristan de Barre spends his ghostly existence as best he can. But when a storm uproots an ancient tree, and exposes skeletal remains from his own time, he knows this could be a clue to breaking the curse. But he needs the help of the living, the best archaeologist in the land, Dr. Andi Monroe. He expects an old man, but the doctor is very young and female. Despite his best efforts, Tristan is quickly besotted with her wit and determination. But how do a mortal and a cursed soul stand a ghost of a chance? Miles' debut is a charming tale that mixes best what readers enjoy in medieval fantasy and contemporary romance. The less-common ghostly theme will appeal to paranormal fans looking for variety, and the quirky, lovable characters will leave readers wanting to revisit the knights of Dreadmore Castle. cute quick read
If you are looking for light quirky fun romance, this is a good book to hold you over. Cindy Miles writes in a young manner, yet conveys the old world charm properly. Tristan and Andi are great characters. The strong heroine has a refreshingly cool job - Archeologist. The chemistry between the two characters is there as well. There have been reviews, commenting on the likeliness to Stardust of Yesterday and yes, I agree - the characters and story is similar. However, I personally preferred this book over the other. Stardust is good. But the writing in this one appealed more to me and the heroine was more realistic to me. I also read the 2 follow up books from Cindy Miles and while I liked book 1 and 2, book 3 was just ok due to an unexplained happy ending. (no spoiler here - a romance does have a happy ending)

Loved the storyline
As always, Cindy Miles does not disappoint! I have collected most of her books. They allow me to travel and be an amateur anthropologist! Love her humor.

A sweet tale of a medieval knight and a modern lady
What a charming debut novel! Just recently I discovered Cindy Miles' books and am certainly glad I did. Spirited Away was the first and absolutely loved it.Tristan de Barre, a 13th century Knight, known as Dragonhawk, is murdered along with his knights and their souls cursed to roam Dreadmoor Castle for all eternity. Now in the present day, when archeologist Andi Monroe is sent to excavate some of the castle's remains, to her delight quickly finds herself swept away with the Dragonhawk legend and determined to solving the 700 year old mystery. With the help of Tristan's and his garrison's ghosts. It has a sweet blend of romance, fun, mystery and of course medieval knights that will sweep you away. With a good plot line and cast of characters, a few twists and turns this book kept me reading till the end.I would defiantly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a lighthearted, cute historical meets complimentary romance.

A Bit Dissappointed!
This is my first read by Ms Miles I loved all the characters Tristan and Andi and I liked the idea of the story until it got repetative. For me this was not a romance novel their was not sensual romantic lovemaking and the happey ending really fell FLAT after being dead for 700 hundred years and meeting your soul mate their should have been an explosion of love makeing not a half page of let down!! This author needs to read Lisa Kleypas or Julia London they will show her how it is done. This is not a romance novel but a Good Ghost story!

I love this novel
I love this novel. The characters are interesting and fun, and the plot was a lot of fun to read. If you're looking for a lot of hot and heavy romance action, you wont get it here (seeing as the love interest is, in fact, a ghost and unable to actually touch Andi). The only real romance scene is in the last few pages of the book. However, I actually really enjoyed the buildup, and it forced the readers to focus on the storyline. Overall a very enjoyable read!

Charming!
What a great story teller Cindy Miles is! I love her style and once again had a hard time putting this book down. I got so wrapped up in Spirited Away & one point my emotions were so raw, I had to take a break and have a cry, but not to worry...the ending is delicious! I think she is a unique talent and I am on to her next book. With all of the world's problems, I appreciate the break from the everyday stress that Cindy Miles provides.

LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT
This is the first book by this author that i have read and it was brilliant! Going to buy her other books next. The story was very well written and just loved Tristan. I also loved the fact that it was a long story which had me burning the midnight oil reading it as I couldn't put it down. 10 out of 10. Going to read this authors paranormal books that she writes under Elle Jasper next.
