Very cool compilation.
I don't know what isn't to love about this compilation. Some songs are a little more interesting and dynamic then others but overall this is a good way to start if your new to his music.

Speechless, am I when I hear ....
I had to buy this CD for one song that I have also got on my cassette. It is the song of the soul and heart, "Mun Utkayaa Bae'Purwaa Dae' Naal" But you have to understand the realm of emotions expressed in the lyrics, the music, the tabla, the clapping, the rise and fall of the tone, the chorus, the delivery of words....I can go on and on. My love and respect for the great singer multiplies whenever I hear this piece. I guess his HEAVENLY Delivery brings out the best of Punjabi Poets' message. May God bless late Nusrat's soul.~~Allah Allah - The music has a western blend. Totally different from the previous one. No Tablaa and etc. Chorus is very prominent in the background. Again the Punjabi verses were given an upbeat music. A devotional theme! Some of the Urdu ones have been sung well. i.e 4 and 7. But, his articulation of Punjabi brings the best out of him.

A wonderful selection
This is one of the best selection of late NFAK. The 1st qawwali is the most captivating in terms of verses, lyrics and music. The rise and fall of the music and the singer's voice is unbeatable. I had misplaced my cassete with this song and ended up buying the whole CD again. Besides the 1st selection, the rest are beautiful in terms of lyrical ballads and music. This selection is not recommended for those who cannot understand Punjabi and Urdu as besides the music, the verses have the true power. So if you are getting it for the music only then you will be able to enjoy it partially. Try to focus on the lyrics besides the music as that is the key. A killing beginning and a thoughful ending.

Love of both worlds
This collection is yet another masterpiece from the legend who masterminded this form of music on the international scene. Whats best about this collection is that it gives a taste of all the flavours of the music in the armour of this genius artist. And every track gives the universal message of love, from divine love to human love. The first track (Man Atkiya bay-Purwa dai Naal) is a beauty. It is pure qawwali about a careless beloved. It brings out the true feelings of love even if you dont understand a word of the lyrics. The music is so powerful, it is an amazing experience. The next track (Sab Vird karo) reverts to the pop style of Khan (not his true forte) but yet is a beautiful glorification of divine love and the excellent lyrics are too good to be understood. Track 3 (Saanson ki Maala) is a beauty from the start till the end. If u start listening to it, u will never wish it to end. Again pure qawwali but in a different dialect. The music is mystifying. The lyrics are rich. It is immersed in feelings for the beloved. The next track (Tumhain dillagi) is traditional qawwali stuff & is a must listen. The crests & troughs are a wonderful experience. Again it is an invitation towards true love & the sufferings faced in that love. Track 5 (Dam Dam Karo Fareed) is a qawwali in praise of a Soofi saint and his devotion for truth. It is this form of music that qawwali has its actual roots in. The second last track (Ghunghat Chuk) is to be understood to be enjoyed. It is a pure Punjabi qawwali that invites the beloved to break away all the barriers in love. The last track (Un kay Andaz-e-karam) is a qawwali which is not only lyrically rich(which is always true) but the music is also equally rich. Describing the flip of heart on the beloved, it is a perfect ending to this collection. I am sure Nusrat would have loved listening to this collection himself as well!

Magical
The music on this album will transport you to another realm. I had never heard of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan before trying this album, but I was glad I got it! I found the best song was "Sab Vird Karo Allah Allah", but all of them were excellent and had a near-magical quality about them. I am not a Muslim, but in these beautiful Sufi tunes I can almost feel the beauty that the dervishes speak of. Personally I preferred the Urdu tunes (not suprisising considering that NFAK is a Pakistani), but all of the songs are wonderful.
