they are tire chains

I tried them in the yard. Some of the tightening cams were stuck and I had to beat on them to free them. But got chains on Dodge 2500 and drove around yard. Tore up grass pretty good going up a small hillside. Impressed with traction. Put them away for winter. Made in China is depressing
