Filtrol Replacement Filter Bag - Washing Machine Filter| Microfibers|Septic

For those that have had one of these filtrol units for a long time, this is a new filter design. The old design had elastic sewed around the filter bag half way down. It brought the sides of the filter bag in. One of the problems I’ve always had is the soap scum would coat the sides of the bag and the lint would never really fall to the bottom. Instead the inside surface of the bag would just clog and have to be cleaned every couple washes, no matter what kind of soap was used or how little soap was used. This new design SOLVES THIS PROBLEM!!! Wow! The water now washes through the bag and leaves the lint deposits filling up the bag from the bottom! I no longer have to take it out and wash it out every couple washes. The water now washes better down the sides of the bag as it drains and deposit the waste that is not desired in the septic system from the bottom up thus eliminating the problem I was seeing and allowing more loads between cleaning the bag. Finally they got it right. Hopefully they keep it this way as this design really works well!

This filter replacement works as well if not better than the original. I always try to clean it when I see an inch of sediment. The housing (you must have this) isn't designed to be very easy to open. I have to use a paint scraper, but thats not the fault of the filter. Its over 2 years old and still shows no sign of degradation. Good for my septic field, nice to keep out all that debris and fibers.Recommend if you have the housing already.

I bought this due to having to pay $200. To have drains blown out. Plumber had recommended putting washer drain hose into laundry tub with filter on it..which was not a good look. I just LOVE it ! I do recommend buying extra bag. I also purchased this item for my daughter along with extra bag. You will not believe how much lint accumulates in just a week or two. The cost is minimal compared to plumbers cost.

I have no complaint directly with this OEM product, other than the plastic seems less hardy than ones I have bought in the past. I just wish these things weren't so darn expensive.

Update: I have been using this filter for a few months now, and I find that this filter with the different material is doing the same thing the old filter did. After a few washes, the filter's pores get clogged and does not allow the water to filter through, forcing the water to go out the top of the filter. We wash with liquid detergent and no softener in cold water. The discharge clogs up the pores of the filter and water remains in it long after the wash is done. I have to use hot water and manipulate the filter to get the clogging matter to come off back into the filter and then I have to manually remove it from the filter. The filter does work until it gets reclogged after several washes. The only solution I see is to clean the filter out more frequently.I have owned a Filtrol 160 lint filter for at least 15 years. I can't believe how much lint I kept out of my septic tank. I have been alternating the use of my original filter along with an older style, second replacement filter, for the last few years. I just tossed my original, closed in, filter. One of the problems I had with them is that the lint would line the inside of the filter, blocking the material, and the discharge water was force to escape through the holes in the top of the filter. I read a review that said that user had the same problem and the new design of this filter worked so much better. Based on his review, I bought another filter. This filter is better than the previous two I used. All of the lint was on the bottom of the filter, not blocking the filter material. The reviewer attributed the new filter design, but the filter material itself appears to be better. If you have problems with the lint blocking your old filter, give this new designed one a try. I am going to toss my remaining old one and purchase another one like this.

We moved to a house with a septic tank and I read that it best to try to keep lint and fibers out of the tank as it can eventually clog and cause problems. So far I have collected a large amount of lint and fibers which would have ended up in the septic and drainage field. I love this product!

We have an older Filtrol set & needed a replacement filter bag..this is what we needed & it worked great!

We do a lot of laundry and the original bag just wouldn't come clean anymore. I anticipate we'll need a replacement about every year. Works like the original and better than having the cast iron drain pipes getting clogged!
